Does anybody want to see ½ the guys on the current team transfer and lose every single recruit that has verbally committed? I don’t. We have a young team, a new practice facility being built, and some good recruits coming in. Stand behind GMac and this team.

Losing half of the players might not be so bad this time around. What's the worse that could happen? We finish 11th or 12th in the Big 12, not a big difference from where we are now.

If we are not going to judge him on who he signs and doesn't then we can't keep him here because of some kids that may be good in 20013.

This team is still a work in progress. Let’s get behind this team now and re-evaluate at the end of the year.

McDermott has talent on his team, needs a little more in the lane help. Pollard is a joke, only good hire was Sanderson. Everything Pollard has touched has turned to dust, except the tickets they are worth gold apparently. Pollard started this, we need to end it.....

I don't know about anybody else, but I think Pollard is a great AD and I have his back completely.

I don't think I'm alone, or in the minority, in that view.

But nice first post. Ragging on the AD.

Wet paper bag. Dry ones are actually not easy to coach out of.

No offense to Greg but the way this team has played this year if I didn't know better I would think the same of McD. We're well on our way to the worst three years for the program since Johnny took over the program in the early 80s.

McDermott was reportedly offered the Iowa job after Alford left (with a sizeable raise) and said no.

I may not be the biggest fan of the guy, but at least he's someone I can respect.
Mac has been offered numerous jobs...not going anywhere unless JP does.

Folks, I don't doubt Coach McD is a great guy and dedicated to getting ISU better, and has experienced some misfortune with attrition, but I feel he needs to be accountable for what is happening with the players he has on roster.

+ Last year, I attended the @CU game and witnessed some of the worst defensive, flat-footed,standing around, no-offense play I've seen in quite a while. I was embarrassed how bad a 1st year coach took it to Mac....until I saw the Drake & Iowa games this year.

+ That last 10 mins vs Drake was atrocious and we were out-coached; and our front court look anemic against them - just wait till you see what Abrams, or Collins will do to us in the B12.

+ I just about thew bricks at the TV watching the Iowa game last week.

---->Jermaine Davis dribbled circles around our guards.
----->Iowa easily dribble-penetrated against us and had many uncontested layups.
-----> Cyrus Tate made it looked like he was guarding a high school player.
Is anybody seeing some player development?

-----> The half time adjustments by Coach Lick embarrassed Coach McD. Lick had a quote in the DSM stating all Iowa had to do was get us into a half-court game, and they would win.....And they took off on a 24-4 run to start the 2nd half. Totally out coached us.

And we're playing a couple guys with significant minutes who don't belong in the B12, no matter how much their dedication.

No, I think seeing our coach drunk with the opposing teams coeds was probably the lowest point.

Greg has his work cut out for him, there is no denying that. Certainly needs to start showing progress, and soon.

I'll tell you what...I feel like I am living in an alternate world...a bizarro world.

What ever happened to the days of someone actually having to have legitimate success to get offered a new job.

AU hires a new HC with only 2 years of experience and a 5-19 career record and McDermott has had "numerous" offers with what he has done at ISU. I guess McCarney might be up for the Patriots job if Belichick decides to retire.

true...I still maintain that every current problem is fixable. Whether they are or not we'll see over the next two seasons.

I think GMAC get's one one more season at the least, but two more seasons at the most to demonstrate that we can be a consistent post season contender.

I was at the Iowa game...with my ISU sweatshirt covering my head. Absolutely pathetic display. My daughters learned some new words.

G_d bless you and your loyalty.

It must have been hard seeing a 2nd year coach, who just lost his top point guard, have a backup plan that included development of a guard attack that shredded our back court. Not to mention what Tate did to our front court.

Pollard's job isn't in danger. He's done a great job in raising funds and improving the facilities at ISU. Despite how it ended up, the Chizik hire was big catch for Pollard. He was able to bring in the top Assistant in the country and one of the top candidates in the country. The McDermott hire was a little riskier. The funny thing is I thought McDermott would be a good X's and O's coach but wasn't sure he could recruit. Now I feel like he's done a good job recruiting, but I question his ability to maximize their potential. He probably has through next season to prove himself.
