I don't remember seeing anyone not giving 100% since Tinsley...
except for only 2 games I can think of, I will take tinsleys 50% effort over almost all of our other players since 2000 at 100%.

Coaching college basketball is 90% recruiting...
Blalock, Stinson, and Homan consistanly gave less than 100% during their three years under Wayne, only to turn it on for Kansas, Iowa, and other big-name schools.
I can also tell you that a McDermott practice is head and shoulders better than a Wayne Morgan practice for teaching, instructing, and discipline...it's no comparison..
You've been to both practices? Because I have. I've seen Wayne Morgan spend hours teaching offensive sets, the zone defense and the secondary break.
I'm not saying Mac doesn't but to say heads and shoulders is incorrect.
If McDermott's guys aren't achieving at a higher level than Wayne's did as upperclassmen, I'll be very disappointed...when one questions the effort on a McDermott coached team, it's not even close to being the same as when one questions the effort on a Morgan coached team-and the lack of effort (which makes overachieving literally impossible) is what upset me the most about Morgan, and made me believe that regardless of talent brought in, we would never achieve up 2 our potential...his Long Beach State teams did the same thing...I will GLADLY eat my words and admit I was wrong if we don't see a large increase in wins next year with another year of conditioning for Garrett and Brackins, and the addition of Colvin and Gilstrap.
Strange that they were never used in a game.
The secondary break is an offense. Just ask Roy Williams. Just because the teams didn't come down and hand the ball to a 5 foot 8 white point guard who held up a fist or tapped his head doesn't mean they weren't running an offense.
Iowa State fans hated the run and gun style and they hated the zone defense? Why I don't know. Because it is junk basketball as they call it? Guess what Junk basketball is basketball now. This isn't Milan, Indiana, we don't have Gary Thompson playing for us. Times have changed.
Here is an idea.
Given what I know about economics and suppy and demand, it seems that considering the salaries that head basketball coaches are getting, that there is a demand for solid coaches out there.
Morgan installs satellite dishes.
Just sayin...

HE OWNS HIS OWN BUSINESS. Seems to me he's living the American Dream. Sets his own hours, spends time with his family. Isn't on the road three or four nights a week. Doesn't have to deal with people questioning every move he makes. All the while cashing checks from Iowa State University. Sounds like a pretty good deal.
Your first point is spot on!
As for your second point, I believe ISU fans do like up-tempo BB. Just look at the average attendance figures under Orr, Floyd, Eustachy, and Morgan. Orr had great attendance (up-tempo). Attendance dropped under Floyd (slower tempo) even though we had some good teams. Attendance dropped even further under Eustachy (slower tempo) during a time that we had, arguably, the best team in school history. Then attendance improved under Morgan (up-tempo) again. I think ISU fans have voted with their attendance that they prefer up-tempo BB.
OHHHHH I get it. There are D1 schools banging down his door for him to come coach for them, he is just too busy living the dream.
Thanks for the clarification.
You continue to take personel remarks about a man you don't know and have no idea what his career goals are because you can't counter points related to his performance at Iowa State.
You continue to talk about how great of a coach he is without seeing the OBVIOUS! HE AIN'T A COACH ANYWHERE MAN! No one wants him. You know why? Cuz IMO, he wasn't that great of a coach.
We can agree to disagree.
I know he's not a coach. My statement is that his record at Iowa State is better then Greg's and we fired him.
Again, I don't think you need to be that great of a COACH to win basketball games. If you give me 5 McD's all Americans and you give GMac our starting 5, I'm winning that game 9 times out of 10. It's about recruiting and right now we are bringing goats to the Kentucky Derby.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear. The vocal majority of fans, those on here who rip Wayne Morgan for his style of play are the fans I was refering to. You are correct attendance was better with the uptemp style.
