I don't think there's any way we'd be in as an at-large today. We've beaten an FCS team, a mid Iowa team, Arkansas State, and a bad Houston team, SOS would sink us with a committee looking to put as many Power 2 teams in as possible.
Disagree. BYU has one of the better wins of all the teams. Their win over SMU looks good too.Clemson would get in before BYU.
It’s notable that Miami and Clemson do not play in the regular season. That gives them a path if they take care of business to get two in.The Big 12 has had some early heavyweight matchups that have knocked some of our best teams (OSU, KSU and Utah) down a notch or two.
The Big 10 has really only had one of those (USC vs Michigan) or two if you want to count Penn State vs Illinois. That's all going to change over the next few weeks.
When all is said and done, I think the Big 10 gets 3 teams in the playoff and the Big 12 gets 1 or 2. It would help if Notre Dame picks up one more loss.
That means about a 2.5% to go undefeatedRemaining games and our odds of winning according to ESPN Matchup Predictor:

UCF 65.8%
Texas Tech 75.1%

Kansas State 53.0%
Don’t disagree about it being a long shot but is it settled that Iowa is a mid team? I think that will be determined in the next two or theee weeks. They have looked terrible at times but was more impressive against Minnesota than Michigan. And I hate the hawks as much as the next guy.I don't think there's any way we'd be in as an at-large today. Try not to confuse deserving a bid based on results with getting a bid based on name brand.Disagree. BYU has one of the better wins of all the teams. Their win over SMU looks good too.

Iowa has a good shot at being ranked by the end of the year. A mid win would be the top of the Big 12.I don't think there's any way we'd be in as an at-large today. Michigan isn’t good. They’re playing without a QB and their OL stinks. I wouldn’t go by anything they do. If Iowa can run the ball like it’s 2003 like they have been, they’ll be a tough out. Thankfully, they don’t have a QB either.Don’t disagree about it being a long shot but is it settled that Iowa is a mid team? I think that will be determined in the next two or theee weeks. Yep, I look at it like this, if we can some sort of a consistent offense with our defense we are going to be in the B12 title game. I need more data before getting excited. I am just going to enjoy the ride for now.Yes as I thought we would probably be 3-1 with a loss to the Hawks.
But for me, it's too soon to be talking Big12 Championship game or playoffs. I'll get excited and start looking beyond the next game once we get 7-8 games into the season.
History is littered with teams that start 5-0ish and finish 6-6. The Clones have played well enough, but still feel ISU has to bring its A or B game to beat most Big12 teams. Houston & Cincy might be the only teams we beat playing average like Saturday.

previously, I would've agreed. But after this week... I can see is losing every week... realistic Cyclone fan... but IF we play to our competition. Utah and K state are coin flips to be 12-0. I hate to say it, but the conference is that bad, not deep like people hoped.Here is how I'm looking at things the rest of the way:
@Houston, Win
Baylor, Win
@WVU, Tossup
UCF, Tossup
Texas Tech, Win
"@"Kansas, Win
Cincinnati, Win
@utah, Loss
Mildcats, Tossup
Then take one of those wins and make it a tossup to be conservative. Floor of 7-5, ceiling of 11-1. Can't remember the last time I looked at our conference schedule and said there's only one game I think we probably lose. Probably never.
Yes... Iowa, Arkansas State, and Houston all have terrible QBs. Some of the worst in the FBS, seriously. I have been following North Dakota all year and their passing attack is pretty decent. That Belquist kid is kicking arse. The Vikings are gonna pick him up as an undrafted free agent in the off season, guaranteed.Everyone is excited about being 4-0, and I am too, but I don’t think any of us know how good this team is?
Seriously.. we haven’t beat anyone (and yes that includes Iowa). Have we beaten a QB that even has a pulse yet? North Dakota’s QB was maybe the only one?
I think we definitely have the potential of being good, and even winning the Big 12, but I don’t know how anyone can know at this point? The OL looks very average again IMO, and I’m concerned about Rocco…. I hope he’s healthy.
I do know we have to step our game up though in the next week or two…. things are going to get tougher for sure.
