It's the little brother complex that causes some of our fans to obsess about UNI. Not sure how many more years of Hoiball it is going to take for some of you to finally get it out of your system.

The only people who believe in 'little brother complex' are those that have been listening to hawkeyes too much.

My 2 cents.... as far as ISU's ranking, I don't see anything wrong with it. We have bad losses against South Carolina and TT, and the Maryland loss isn't looking so good anymore either. If we wanted to be ranked higher, we should have taken care of business. And if we want to move up, we had better keep winning.

Now, as far as UNI goes... congrats to them on a great season, HOWEVER, they shouldn't be anywhere near 13th in the country IMO. That is a complete joke.

The one and only decent team they have beaten is Wichita State, and it's debatable if they are even any good since they haven't beaten anyone themselves. Wichita State was ranked really high to begin the season based off of only what they did last year. And they are 0-3 against anyone with pulse. Oh, and UNI beat them at home, not on the road, as of yet.

IMO, UNI shouldn't have even entered the Top 25 until they beat Wichita State. And without getting any good wins since then, they should still be somewhere between 20-25 IMO.

As someone said, ISU will play more ranked teams this WEEK than UNI will all season. Give UNI ISU's schedule and we'd see where they would be ranked right now. They wouldn't. Playing @WV, @Baylor, KU at home, @KU, @OU, etc, etc, etc each and every week takes a beating on a team. There are hardly any nights where you can get a breather.

Playing Evansville, then Loyola, then Southern Illinois, then Drake, then Missouri State, then Indiana State, etc, etc, etc.... is not even on the same planet as what ISU faces each and every week. Beating teams like that shouldn't even move you up at all in the rankings IMO.

Difference between best team and best records...a half dozen big 12 teams would beat UNI more often than not, but won't be reflected in ratings. Although, it does mean a lot to not lose...regardless of opponent...ie Texas texh

With that line of thinking, we shouldn't play anyone with a pulse in the non-con. Let's schedule 15 Mississippi Valley State's and see what happens come tournament time.

I'd rather play UNI at UNI than someone like a South Carolina on a neutral floor.

We had a pretty poor pre-con tourney this year. I like that it's KC but the Diamond Head last year was more beneficial even though the competition was a little weaker. Our pre-con tourney prospects should improve in the coming seasons which will help our non-con SOS.

UNI could hardly do worse on the road in the Big xii than iowa state does. I bet uni wins at Texas tech.

Iowa State has been awful on the road from the time of Johnny Orr to tonight. Except for two years under Eustachy iowa state is probably near the bottom of the league in road wins over the past thirty years.

Iowa State is fun to watch but on road I wouldn't open the curtains if they were playing in my back yard. Getting rolled tonight like a bottom feeder.
