My thoughts:

-Need Robinson back. Badly. However, didn't think it would have made much difference today.
-Personal fouls Need. To. Stop. 9 in two games? Ridiculous.
-I question why we kept running when it was obviously not working.
-Special teams get the gold star and personal pan pizza reward. Studs tonight.
-Tonight's AA vs. PB race: PB. AA looked rusty, sloppy and unbalanced. PB wasn't much better, but WAS better.
-Our run game was just awful and our run defense was almost worse.

GREAT win, good revenge for last year. Good momentum going into rivalry week. I always enjoy when both teams have yet to be defeated. It makes beating EIU all the better.

-Need Robinson back. Badly. However, didn't think it would have made much difference today. They were going to try to avoid playing him at all costs just to rest him
-Personal fouls Need. To. Stop. 9 in two games? Ridiculous. Finally showing some swagger. Osemele, though, Chizik got in his face
-I question why we kept running when it was obviously not working. Cause it was working enough

Revised statistical predictions for the rest of the season (while also taking into account home field advantage):

vs. SDSU W 44-17
vs. Kent State W 48-28
---------------
at Iowa L 3-31 (Skewed by the fact that Iowa has allowed 3 points in the last two games)
at UNLV W 35-31
vs. Kansas L 17-27
at Baylor W 31-28
vs. Nebraska W 38-31
vs. Texas A&M W 34-21
at OSU L 31-38
at CU L 28-34
vs. Missouri W 37-34
at Kansas State L 17-34

Kind of skeptical of the Missouri win, but considering that the series has almost always been close for the past several years, it's possible. If anything, I'd probably switch Missouri around with Kansas State for a late season win. 7-5 predicted, but I think 6-6 is more and more likely.

Same as always, 6-6.

Because you don't run out the clock by passing it on every play.

I've said it a few times, we could not make it up to the game but...

AA: 12/15 for 166 1TD, 0INT
PB: 3/6 for 48 1TD, 0INT

I think people are inflating the play from Bates via the long TD run in what was basically garbage time.

I heard AA started slow but got his crap together and had a nice game. What am I missing that the stats are not showing?

Phil doesn't know when to pass it. He doesn't stay in the pocket when he needs to at times.

You really think Iowa is going to beat us by 4 TD's? I think it will be a one possesion game either way.

Those aren't my personal predictions, I think the game will be closer than 31-3... but that's how the numbers add up so far, considering that the Hawks are statistically allowing 1.5 ppg, and 212 yards per game.

AA fumble on opening drive. PB taking some huge sacks.

PB's explosiveness really makes up for his frustrating play at times. Wouldn't it be something if we could have both of them back there at the same time.

He must have gotten his crap together pretty quickly to have posted those numbers...

I'm just glad this game is over. I thought we'd have a more convincing win, but that quarterback is good. I'm more worried about our run defense than our run offense. Hopefully, rushing 4 guys next week will change some things.

Bates looked better than Arnaud tonight, but it was close.

I know that some people might be a little bit worried about tonight, but I really think it's just a young team growing. We look better than last year and got the win. I still think we have a very good chance of winning in Iowa City.

scales is a terrible runner...but great at blitz pick up - thats why he plays over the other guys.

Arnaud can really throw the ball. Watch his delivery, watch his touch. I am fine with both playing, but AA has to play.

It feels good to be 2-0 going into next week against the Hawkeyes. Tonight I had to listen to the game and not tailgate and be there due to being sick. The defense had its up's and downs, in third and long we have to make that a 4th down and punt situation. My concern coming into this season was special teams and WOW what an improvement; but I am not extremely surpised since we did get Leonard great job special teams. It is nice to hear and see that we have a good kicker and he's a freshmen:yes: Both QB's once again played well still no definite starter and back up in my eyes. It feels good to also have a total team effort and the whole team is winning as a team and supporting each other. Scoring is nice again and disagree with a caller after the game saying that we should have ran out the clock and not send special teams out there and maybe possible injury on the last touchdown. HELLO killer instinct? and we are actually scoring about darn time we have some of that which I think will pay off next week. Iowa has not played a true team yet:no: well they will next week:biglaugh: and I think we have a really good shot at becoming 3-0, but it will be a good game as it always is. I end my night by saying next weeks game is great for this wonderful state and for the two big universities in this state so keep in mind to have sportmanship.

Just got home... I agree with a lot of what's being said in this thread but there was absolutely ZERO pass rush tonight from the team. They front 7 was terrible against the run, missing tackles and assignments like crazy. The offensive line only opened holes periodically against Kent State. Honestly I don't feel good about next week on the road at all.

Edit: Arnaud did get his crap together obviously, but both of his fumbles were AWFUL.

Well... I think 90% of the first 216 posts of this thread need to be deleted.

I was very unhappy with the defense tonight. Edelman and Jarvis absolutely torched us. We missed so many tackles on Edelman it was sickening.

Special teams were AMAZING tonight.

You have to be happy with the offensive production, but they were put on a short field a couple of times becuase of the stellar special teams play.

Running game was pretty hit and miss... We couldn't get a half a yard on a fourth down... Which was frustrating.

I'm interested to see if Chizik plans to use Bates/Arnaud in the same way next week... I may be warming to that idea.
