If that's the case, screw the big 12. If they want to write us a check equal to the benefits we could get from hosting home games in this tournament, fine, we'll refuse the invitation if given.

We're poor. If we get an invite, we take it.

I doubt we'd get any financial benefits from the CBI tourney; if they're like the NIT, they will take almost all revenue and home teams end up practically paying to play.

Even if they took all the gate sales, we'd still make some off of the concessions. Plus the extra practice time couldnt hurt either.

Oh, I agree. The extra games/practice would be worth it. I'm sure that's what other teams think too.

We would lose quite a bit of money from participating in this. There really is no good outcome of this being a Big 12 team. If you win, well good, you still massively underachieved and you won a crap tourney that you basically had to pay for yourself. If you lose you just suck that much more and lost money for no reason. We should turn it down if invited.

I don't know why any Cyclone fan wouldn't want to go. It's an opportunity to see the team play several more games. I guess I still enjoy watching ISU basketball, so maybe I shouldn't speak for everyone else.

About the tournament.... If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it... Does it make a sound???

If ISU makes it, plenty of people will hear it. Probably not outside the ISU community, so it won't help for recruits or anything, but I'd enjoy it.

Leave it up to the players. If they want the season to end, end it. If they want to play, play.

Not true if this article is correct-
Postseason all positive for OSU – but will Craig Robinson stay?

"Then there was the $60,000 per-game fee for a team to play host to a CBI game. Athletic Director Bob De Carolis figured OSU would need 3,000 paying customers per game just to break even. After about 2,500 tickets were purchased by fans at the 49-45 win over the Cougars, De Carolis hedged momentarily before agreeing to put up the bucks to host to a round-two game against Vermont."

I'm guessing we could average a good deal more than 3k per game.

I am still holding out for a 3 or 4 game win streak propelling us into something better but we are not too good for this tourney. If you think we are you are mistaken. Any more practice is good.
