My gut is telling me Iowa has a better team. That's usually when we win.

ISU 24
UI 10

They definitely seem to always have more energy for this game than we do under Rhoads. Just watch them on the sideline and pregame on Saturday, they'll be jumping up and down and we approach it like just another non conference game. We will have the edge in talent this season but we're going to have to match Iowa's intensity to win and I don't see it happening.

Did you notice after Iowa won the game how they very casually walked over to pick up the trophy as a team? Compare that to when ISU has won in years past and tell me who this game means more to. One team expects to win, the other is thrilled if they do because it will make their season regardless.

BS.

I noticed it this year because it's the first year that's happened. Go back and watch the game from 2 years ago and they sprinted across the field just like any team does in any trophy game. This was an obvious preconceived plan to make people think exactly what you thought.

So Iowa State fans were happy at the end of the 2014 season huh? I'm sure you are dumb enough to believe it.

Or it could have something to do with that #9 on their helmet. Nah, that couldn't be it.

I remember 1985 too.

C'mon man. The notion that this game means more to ISU isn't just complete crap, it's also a slap to the face of the Iowa program. This game better mean just as much to our guys, or our coaching staff is doing something very, very wrong.

Here's a great clip of the Hawks very casually walking over to pick up the CyHawk trophy in 2013.

Obviously Iowa, I mean KF was crying after the win. Beathard looked better than I expected though, still reminds me exactly of Steele and Steele played well against the in state rival at JTS too

Not that he wasn't emotional from the win, but I'm pretty sure the tears were brought by something else going on in his head at the moment, given the week the program was coming off.

It was a joke. The players on both sides just want to win, I think one fanbase takes it more seriously than another. I realized the swarm had more to do with Sash than anything, just wanted to have some fun since the poster I responded to said how Iowa would be so much more pumped up energetic for this game than any other.

So you're willing to admit he's better than Rudock? .. And Sam, for that matter?

He sure looked the part Saturday, pretty much the reason Iowa won the game IMO. As of now I would say yes to both, same as I would have when Steele beat Iowa in his first start against them. We remember how the wheels fell off after that but Iowa doesn't have to play anyone that good the rest of the way so he could very well have a good year
