Loyal sons forever true...and we will fight that battle through. Except if youre a Cyclone fan, then you'll just hang it up after 3 games and quit. I hope our team has this same mentality. 3 games in, might as well just go ahead and quit.

3 games? try 15 years of the same... im still cheering, but its hard to get bodies to ames to sustain success... the defense is way to light in the loafers... coaches know this. Knott and Klein are outstanding. Outside that, we have people that play hard.

On the other hand I'm no less of a fan today then I was yesterday I still love the Clones just would like a celebration every now and then! End Rant.

Didn't last season start this way? We don't have Baylor and may not get 8 turnovers against Nebraska this season but other than that we might be able to turn this boat around. What is shocking to me is that with a MAC team already under our belt we have only 5 offensive TDs on the year. We needed a strong O this year... looks like we don't have it again.

I'm tired of the dink and dunk offense we're running. It's tough to have drives of 80 yards when you zero big play ability.

Also, I guess a WR pushing off is legal now.

You are absolutely right about the offense. Teams do not routinely rip off 14 play - 80 yard drives, like our only TD today. There are way too many chances to screw up. This offense has no downfield ability and it's killing us.

For as bad as the defense was, and it got shoved around all day, they did give us a chance to win the game in the second half. They got the Pick Six game changing play, they held at 17-17, and were a blatant offensive pass interference call from holding at 20-17. They also held K-State to three after the obligatory Arnaud strip-sack fumble. For as many yards as they gave up they kept the score reasonable, much like last year.

This team was going to be led by our offense and our senior QB, who were going to outscore opponents to make up for a green defense. Too bad our senior QB is only reliable when he's running the ball. Missing Robinson on that pass at the end is inexcusable. Arnaud is a senior, it's his time to deliver and he failed.

Disappointing game, but lets be honest...we had no business even being in that game. We got killed in every facet of the game. Our d-line, penalties, offense, etc.

It's hard to knock AA too bad because by all accounts he is a great kid and a great leader and has been nothing but a great cyclone. At some point, however, it is time to give JT a look. Arnaud just can't seem to get it done. It pains me to say that because I'd love to see him succeed, but it just doesn't look like it is going to happen.
Gotta agree with ya 32. I've never totally been on the AA bandwagon but I've always hoped for him to succeed. Way too many mistakes for an experienced QB

My thoughts-

We may not have a better option than Arnaud, but a senior simply has to make that throw to ARob.

Why is Money Reynolds on the sideline more than he is in the game?

I really like Reeves, on the other hand, LJ has not looked good. I wish we could move LJ to safety and plug Reeves in at that corner.

I know people say you can't blame the refs, but damn, that off PI honestly may have been a game changer.

Defensively, we're limited, but good things seemed to happen when we blitzed.

Linebacker play was pretty good I thought, including Morton.

That's as close as I get to a meltdown, sorry.

Every now and then, you didn't have any celebrating last year?

Many of us have switched fan allegiances for various reasons, I was an Iowa fan before I became an ISU fan because I attended school there with Iowa offering neither major I was interested in.

However, you must realize this an incredibly pu$$y way to do it with a crybaby statement like that right? I mean you have to realize how pathetic your posts in this thread are. I'm sure any Iowa fans reading will think you're equally pathetic rather than welcome you aboard.

tell me why i should cheer for iowa state opposed to iowa. Just straight up, as if i hadn't been an iowa state fan since i was 7. As if i didn't get on CF every day for the past 2 years. As if i didn't have season tickets. As if my dad and i haven't been going to games since i was 7.

Don't tell me being an iowa state fan is tough. Being a fan shouldn't be tough. It should be fun. Winning is fun. I love watching iowa state win. But why stay when there is better teams out there? :(

Cause being a fan means you are a fan no matter how the team is doing....I would rather be a losing Cyclone than a winning Hawk or anything else for that matter...

well i have been for 15 years. And clearly most cyclone fans share your feelings. "Cyclone fans" just don't care enough about winning for it to actually become a consistent reality.

Yes because the fans were the ones playing the games. We just didn't care enough about winning as fans, now I know why we lost all of those games in the 90's. Give me a break, ISU fans are the most loyal you will find but now you are questioning whether or not ISU fans want to in. Sounds like your conversion to a Hawk fan is well underway.

Run along now Hawk.

I am as mad as the next guy about the loss (just ask the wife) but I am now and will always be a Cyclone fan. Now for all the people in this thread telling you to leave and be a hawk fan, they are just being dumb. It is fine to be frustrated but its not fine to be b****ing at each other over this.

I missed the last part of the game. Maybe that is a good thing. I really felt like I was watching a Walden team - because the defense was so weak. The tackling was bad, the angles were bad, and coverage was bad. There was a DE that rushed upfield past the play about 6 times - just like Walden.

On offense, all we can do passing-wise is dink and dunk-no downfield passing. The defenses have a major advantage knowing we can't beat them long. The red zone penalties hurt us. I agree that Herman seems like GMAC - trying to run a complex system without the proper resources. The last thing I want to hear is give it time.

Our kicking game was good. Our coverages were ok. Did anyone notice that there was no blocking on the lead man on our punt returns? This may not be important, since we may not have another punt return this year.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed today. I was planning on buying tickets to a game this year, but no way am I going to drive 7 hours and spend hundreds of dollars watching crappy football.

What bothers me most is that we are getting worse, not better. Our recruiting hasn't been stellar this year. Defensively, we went all-in to stop the spread with short, quick, thin players - the problem is that more opposing teams are running smash mouth offenses and we don't have the ability to stop them with our lack of size. Offensively, we have to get 4 or 5 yards every play for 12 or more plays to get a touchdown. The probability of that happening is very low. One penalty, sack, missed block, or dropped pass and its time to bring on the punt unit.

Can I just say that Im sick of losing. Im tired of Iowa State football. I still love to watch, and I will be back cheering again next week. But Im sick of it. Im tired of cheering for a bunch of losers. Thats a rough comment, but its true. We lose. A lot.

I am starting to like Iowa more. They have a damn good program and do things the right way. They might be a little shady, but who gives a ****? The only people who think Iowa is full of criminals is Iowa State fans.

Iowa is a tough football team that plays old school. They compete with anyone and everyone in the country. Does ANYONE have ANYTHING they can tell Hawk fans when they are rubbing their successful Ferentz/Fry era smugness in our face?? We lose to them 85% of the time, and its been ugly. They beat us 15 years in a row and ALWAYS have a better season than we do.

On top of that, they are a fun team/program to watch. They don't take **** from anyone. They beat good teams and play EVERYONE tough. If Iowa state played a good team, we get ******* killed like little *******. Im sick of it. go hawks- beat arizona tonight.

For the past few weeks I have not been pro iowa state- because I was so embarrassed after the iowa game. I don't think i will recommend being an iowa state fan to anyone for a long time. This sucks and i don't wish this on anyone. This is a losing team and a losing program. And i will still feel like this tomorrow...

Just got back from a 5 hour drive from the game. We shouldn't have lost this one. I'm disappointed in the team. When does basketball season start again?
