Maybe Park can have a career as a Nicholas Cage stunt double, because nobody else is going to want a head case on their team that throws the most loyal fan base in the country under the bus.
To me, he seems to be try to place blame on others... fans/Campbell.
Whatever, man. I was an outspoken supporter of him and believed he’d be back.
Boy, I was wrong. Water under the bridge now.
Good Luck Jacob
Extremely, highly doubtful that your comments had anything to do with Park's situation. Don't become an enabler.I wouldn't say I "turned" on him but I did express my opinion on CF that I didn't think he'd come back after his suspension. So maybe his comment is directed at me.
Sorry guys.
Didn't a release mention that Campbell found out about the transfer desire through a DMRegister report? If that's true, is that normal for a paper to print such a thing without checking with a coaching staff first? Idk, seems tacky.

Sounded like it was the kempt 6th year thread that set him off....He was attacked on this forum a bit shortly after his suspension. That might have set him off on his rant with the Register and for all I know he just read that stuff last week. It is what it is and I can about guarantee he has had similar issues and has problems dealing with reality. Hopefully he can figure it out and end up where he is happy. At least he brought us to 2-2!
Quote from the DM Register article (bold added for emphasis):
"The former starting quarterback for the Cyclones said in an interview with the Register on Monday night that he asked for his release from Iowa State earlier in the day and plans to transfer."
That appears to me that Park is saying he had talked to Iowa State before giving the interview to the Register. So Iowa State knew about Park's decision before the article came out.
It's weird, but I never looked at it that way at the time, even when we won all four October games. Meaning, that it was a blessing in disguise that we had a new quarterback. For some reason it never crossed my mind. Thought it was just Campbell's 'process' taking effect and details by the team were being executed. Maybe this is where his comments are stemming from, that he was hearing 'noise' that we started winning when he was gone. Either way, it would be a natural reaction for fans to think that way, regardless if it was a coincidence or if it was a big factor. He still shouldn't have spewed his so-called fan disloyalty comments. (Now...having said that, I'm curious, do most of you actually believe the qb change was instrumental in our success, or was it just a gutsy team coming into their own? SIAP)

I do not believe the change in QB was the main factor in the win streak. The biggest change was in the defense. Under Park, the offense average 33 points and the defense yield 25 points. This was against team with comparative weaker offenses (UNI, IA, Akron, Texas). Park had one sub-par game, against Texas when he was under constant pressure.
Without Park the offense averaged 28 points and the defense yielded 19 points. This was against teams that were typically stronger on offense, e.g., Okla, UWV, Baylor, TT, Okla St, not KS or KSU. In summary, the defense really stepped up.

Not a problem, I was just pointing out the discrepancy between the tweets and Park's comments in the Register article. Others on here probably were confused by the tweets also and that can happen quite often. I expect more information will continue to come out from the Iowa State side of things as apparently (as someone previously mentioned) the gag order has been lifted. That's fine. I was just going by a tweet that indicated Campbell found out through a DMR report, that's all. Obviously, not good to believe every tweet you read, right?
