I'll take what Tj has done in 2 yrs way over what Fran had accomplished in the 13 yrs or so he has been at Iowa.
There have been some ugly offense games but never a lack of effort just lack of points being scored.
Yeah that offense looks great until it gets defended or the threes don't fall.
They lost to another coach who doesn't coach defense on senior night so...
Are you actually still talking about two years ago and TJs first season? Lol because last year we scored 69 on senior night (still a loss) but then beat top 10 Baylor on the road the next game.
Iowa on the other hand lost to Nebraska on their senior night this year.
You have to give Fran some credit as a coach for getting these guys to that point. I'm sure they were more talented than they showed in HS, but they did improve a lot at Iowa. Fran still got the bare minimum out of those guys on a lot of nights. He is probably a decent X and Os guy, but his floor coaching is amazingly bad.
Bo Ryan was one of the more successful coaches in the B1G for 15 seasons and had plenty of clunkers offensively but let's celebrate a coach who's best known for his and his teams' (sons) antics more than anything they've done on the court because high scores.
I don't want Fran or his style. But you can't say we were an offensive juggernaut this year. Our bow out in the tourney was fricking embarassing. And we had several of those leading up to that too.
I never said we were an offensive juggernaut. We were not good offensively but we also had one of our best offensive threats get injured then kicked off the team. After that, we had zero depth at guard and minimal three point shooting.
TJ then went and got three very good offensive guards in the portal to go along with the best recruiting class we’ve ever had. He addressed the issue right on the nose and is actively fixing it. Making sarcastic comments about TJ and praising Fran is a little ridiculous.

Isn't the general rumor on Kaluma that he's not exactly the best guy to have around a program? Not a bad kid, but maybe not worth the trouble is essentially where it lands.
