That's a thought. But it would block the view of people sitting on the hillside in that area.
Also, I think it would look out of place there, but maybe that's just me..
They won't leave that open access though so whether it is a replaceable section as suggested or concrete to fill in the retaining wall the view would be the same.

Cardinal, black, and......no gold that I can see. Even the "Welcome to Cyclone Football" sign in the student section area appears to have black lettering. I love the look, but I do miss our traditional colors just a bit.

Are the rope lights considered gold?

But that sign is considerably higher than the opening in concrete guardrail, so it would block the view of some of those sitting on the hillside.

I would assume they will block the hillside access to the field in a way similar to how they block all the access points in the lower deck. Just my 2 cents worth.

It could get dangerous for young kids when the students start prepping for a field rush!

I was hoping after the rain, they’d leap back into action.

Maybe with the forecast, they took the afternoon off, and will be back in the morning?

I’ve been wondering if that wall will continue to the corner of the corral when they’re done. Or maybe that’s a spot for a maintenance gate.
I’ve been pondering this myself and I think this might be how they finish it.

Wall 2 in the photo below will act like the retaining walls that are by the Jake. They will fill in soil along the east side of it for the ramp. The top of the wall 2 will act as a concrete guardrail.

Then they will fill in on the west side of wall 2 (south of the tunnel entrance) to match the east. Simultaneously, they will be backfilling the south side of wall 1 (to the top of it).

They will then put some type of fencing on top of wall 1 as shown below (similar to before). It will probably need to be higher to match the perimeter fence, since the area to the north (left) of wall 1 will now be an open area.

This depends on whether or not they keep the area south (right) of wall 1 open to the public like before (those inside the stadium).

Edit: Rewatching this flyover video:

and noting how the top the retaining wall's shadow lays here:

I now think wall 2 will be backfilled to the top on the right side and will be filled on the left to taper down to the top of wall 1. Wall 2 will have some type of guardrail/fencing similar to wall 1.

I will now take a brief respite from posting on CF for the benefit of all.

“Wall Two” is the wall for the ramp up from in front of the Jake. That and the wraparound concourse come together to flow into the concessions concourse. The crenellations wall simply ends to allow traffic from both to flow together.

The simply have yet to pour the walkway to make the connection, probably because the just filled in with dirt.

Next week, velvet rope? ;)

(For those interested, you can see a bunch of the OV coming out of football locker room on the webcam (rewind to 17:42:27)).

I’m thinking by the time we’re done, we’ll see handprints in concrete along the walkway, with Cardinal and Gold Stars.

What’s Lazard doing after Packers OTA’s?
