Can't believe that is not some kind of recruiting violationI'm from West Union and went to North Fayette, and I can guarantee the people he is staying with and the coaches are pushing him strongly toward Iowa. Still have to think if he has a chance to play at Alabama, Michigan, etc. it will be hard to turn down even with the strong push he is receiving from those around him

Not trying to be a smart-***, but how would the people he's staying with (family, whoever) and his high school coaches encouraging/pushing him to go to a specific school be a recruiting violation?
And I would still put the odds of him coming to Iowa at 50/50 at best. Kid has ability, hope he ends up at a place where he can develop it.

If they were giving him money, clothes, paying parents rent, etc.... as a way to "encourage" him to Iowa or Alabama or whatever, then yes, you have a point.
If the coach is simply pushing one school because he/she likes it and thinks its the best fit for the student/athlete, thats not a recruiting violation. That happens at damn near every single high school in the U.S. Across many sports. It's why college coaches try to keep working relationships with coaches and administrators at high schools and pipeline areas.
I don't remember the exact details, but a "booster" includes anyone who has ever bought a season ticket. And boosters can't recruit.
a coach or parent(guardian) are explicitly excluded from being labeled as a booster.
Fans can not recruit player, period. Now they may be trying to do what is best for the kid, but if they are also donating to the hawks or even season ticket holders, it would probably be a violation. I remember isu got in trouble because Julio m. Borrowed the family car from the isu fans he was living with.
Wasn't that Jiri Hubalek? The Czech not the Slovak. ...or did they both have that issue?

Seriously? So a parent and/or coach giving a kid their opinion on what school they think they should go to is a recruiting violation? Yeesh
He's already changed his mind what, three or four time? This recruiting circus is just getting started.
yep read the rules hawkie
