He's a pretty good guard, probably would have gotten LT money if the strength staff wasn't so soft

Ha, aside from the fact that his rookie contract was bigger than any OT drafted, spot on. Hey, were you alive in '73?

Scherff has what, a 4 year 22 mill deal? His offensive lineman teammate got a 5 year 66 mill deal. One of them used straps in college, the other did not.

Haha, nice. I'm guessing you were around in '73, but very young. No?

WOW they updated the article that they just posted yesterday

Edit: a previous version of this post said that Harris was the nephew of former Bears defensive lineman Tommie Harris. That evidently isn't true, as Juan Harris apologized for making that up on Twitter.

I'm too lazy to go back in the thread. What caused the bump?

Yeah, even if he ends up a Hawk, seems like one of those cases where you just hope the kid can get some solid support around himself and some good mentors there to help give him some of what it sounds like he didn't get growing up.

I would agree with this. Whether it's at Iowa (which I'd put at no more than 50/50 right now), Illinois or wherever, he needs to get in a program with some structure and can help him get focused. Perhaps going to a school more distance away from his family/friends would be a good thing for him.
