Also saw it tonight. Absolutely loved it. Seeing the theme park idea played out was great and the ending was big stupid fun that was catered to people who grew up with JP(me).

some cringe worthy moments because of the cheese factor but I'd pay to see it in theaters again.

*my expectations were reset after seeing the trailers. If you expect a faithful sequel to JP1 you'll be disappointed. If you expect a fun nostalgia trip than you'll leave happy.

I think I am going to go today. The tickets for the bargain shows today are $5.75 for 2D and $8.75 for 3D. Would it be worth it to see it in 3D?

3D vs 2D depends a lot on your actual vision. We went with two guys who both wear thick glasses - 3D does nothing for them because of that, in fact, makes it harder for them to even see the movie.

In Ames, the 2D's are selling out, the 3D's are at about 3/4 full per the ticket booth. We got there 45 minutes early for the 7.30 2D and were in the middle of the line to get in. It was sold out about 20 minutes before showtime. Matinee might be better, but nevertheless, plan accordingly... :)

This was more or less me, except I still wouldn't say I loved it. I did like all of the little subtle and some of the not so subtle nods to the original movie in this.

And no matter how old I get, I still get a little misty eyed when I hear the Jurassic Park music.

When they started playing the "happy theme" (the theme they used for when Allen & Ellie first saw the dinosaurs in the original), I got goosebumps. I whispered that to my son, & he raised up his arm & said, "me too, Ma...".

I didn't really "get" any of the numerous nostalgic callbacks. It seemed to be a movie very full of "Remember this?????" Not my thing.

I really liked it! I loved the first movie so I was hesitant after reading what a few people had to say. I was afraid it would be a thrown together mess of dinosaurs eating people with little to no storyline. It had a decent storyline, very good visuals, references to the original park and movie, and had some good humor. I thought it was pretty funny Jimmy Fallon makes an appearance.

I thought it was interesting they brought back the asian scientist from the first movie to play the same role. If Dr. Grant would have made an appearance that would have been pretty sweet.

Definitely 3D.

Went Friday night and had the same reaction as everyone else, fun, action packed, and if you like the first one you will like this one.

Seems others agree...over $205 mil on opening weekend. Wow. Only bad thing with that is we will have to live through sequels (which I'll still watch I'm sure).

I ended up going in 2D but I wouldn't mind going to it again in 3D.

Want to see this movie badly, but am always scared to see any of the blockbuster action flicks anymore ever since they've all turned into some form of ridiculously over-the-top CGI ******* matches. No joke, Michael Bay has been the worst thing to ever happen to action movies. Now don't get me wrong, I'm okay with some level of CGI, and I realize that a movie like Jurassic World is going to require some level of it, but the extent of it is key. I'm just done watching blockbusters that seem to be one continuous out-of-this world impossible action scene, where there seems to be a contest as to how many things they can blow up. This is all while laughing at the idea of any type of plot. With that said, for those who have seen this, am I going to be disappointed yet again?

P.S. Apologize for the rant. Maybe the 20th last straw for me was when Michael Bay absolutely pulverized my beloved TMNT franchise to a lifeless pulp and I'm still licking my wounds.

Pratt signed on for two more.
He's wanting to take time off after Guardians 2, Magnificent 7, and the Jen Lawrence sci-fi flick.
I don't think he's going to get his time off.

It surpassed The Avengers for the biggest opening weekend in movie history. I don't think anyone saw that coming.

I have a 7 year old who loves to watch the original JP and is dying to watch this one (thanks to the overwhelming marketing campaign). Any insight on bad language and whether it is too intense for little ones?

This site is great for answering those questions. Out of 10: Sex- 2, Voilence- 7, Profantify- 4. If you click the link, they break down each category in further detail with all examples listed.

A 2 because of kissing I assume?

Bryce Dallas Howard's skirt rode up fairly high at one point. That's probably it.

I did find it humorous that she was running around the whole time through the forest and from dinosaurs right up to the end still wearing stileto heels. Including out running a T-Rex in them.
