The pettiness on the wrestling forum is unmatched. Lots of hurt feelings and egos to go along with name calling. Damn near feels like I'm matside at a 9-12 yr old wrestling tournament.

Feel like Roland Story isn’t the same as other small towns given it’s proximity to Ames, and central Iowa.
Seems like you are really really trying to justify yourself here, when almost everyone agrees your post was not written very well.

I guess you are the type that has to be right no matter what. Simply admitting that you could have put Long down instead of "He" when replying to a post 3 months old and 15 pages back, on a board about and titled in someone else's name, would end this.

But you continue to try to argue and justify yourself and tell everyone else they are wrong and dumb. I know A LOT of highschoolers that have spent a LOT of time in bars, I know many that were able to drink in said bars as well over the years. Small town Iowa is a bit different than college town or Big City.

As a matter of fact the first time I ever was carded to get into a Bar was in College. I drank in Several bars in High school and the following years before 21, and we even had our senior party in a Bars Party Room, Kegs and all. And this is even when some of the bar owners knew me, knew my parents and family and for sure knew I was not of age, some maybe not. Usually the ones that knew you were the ones that served you the most. Or simply you sent someone up to the bar that was old enough to buy and drank like that all night. No one cared and no one checked or carded you, as long as you didnt cause an issue.

So to some of us, a high school kid drinking in a bar is not that big of a stretch, and to think he assaulted a bartender...one who tried to tell him no, a kid that never gets told no...Yeah not that hard to make that connection.

Roland for sure and even Story City are NOT Ames.

Again instead of being such a jerk, about it claiming you are right, you could just maybe admit that your post was a bit deceptive or maybe just a little confusing, and move on, instead of claiming EVERYONE else here is stupid.

Its not impossible but I doubt it in Story City. SC has 1 bar the size of thumbs and a Mexican restaurant. Thats it.
Some of us have no idea what these places have for bars. That doesnt make his post any less deceptive. For all we know there could be 10 bars there.

I mean I grew up in towns of 100 people having 2 bars that were always both packed ever weekend. Or a town of 800 having 4 bars. So if we are looking at someone from Roland or Story City all we can think is well the place probably has several bars.

This still doesnt make his post any less likely to misunderstand the "HE" he was talking about as the persong the thread is about and titled as. Considering you have to click through the post he was replying to and several more just to get to a place where it names the person as not in the Title.

I didnt say it was deceptive. I said I doubt it would happen in SC. I have family in Roland and Story CIty and been in Ames for ~21 years. I also didn't say it could not have happened.

I grew up in a town of 4k and we had 6-8 bars depending on the years. Most of the owners were my friends parents so ya we got away with stuff we shouldn't have but if you were in HS and looking for a fight in a bar that would last about 10 secs.

Lol so serious about this, and your post started off with a long of irony. Noted for next time so you don’t get all bothered by your confusion. Thanks for that!

The point is CyDude believes we should have known he was not talking about Kade because the "He" he was talking about was in reference to someone that was in a bar... because no high school kid ever gets into a bar anywhere in Iowa.

The last 2-3 pages on this thread are almost completely people who don’t normally post on the wrestling forum.
TBH, I didn't even realize it was ON the wrestling forum until someone mentioned it. I rarely pay attention to that. I was following it because of the title, the fact that it was a locall (to me) story, and because my sons competed against R-S in wrestling back in the day.

Not exactly sure.
Didn't catch that. Thanks. Doesn't really change what MJ and I posted, tho. He did sound pretty territorial about who should be commenting on this thread.
That is one of the biggest issues with wrestling, some big wrestling fans will chase off a lot of potential new fans. Then want to complain that 2500 show up to a meet.

It was a 1 year activities suspension from the school. He entered through a club.
shame on the club then- kids don't learn unless everyone is on the same page

i can tell you my kid wouldn't have to worry about attending a tournament if this transpired under my roof

( no Fu**ing way in He** would it)

Sexual discrimination and loss of consortium???? Not understanding how those two are in play here. Especially when it happened at the victims house.
I haven’t read the filing but it looks like the sex discrimination case is “if our child was a girl, you (the school district) would have made sure that she didn’t have to be around the accused while going to school. You didn’t do that in this case because our child is a boy. Therefore, you discriminated against him on the basis of sex.”

I’m assuming the loss of consortium is “our son has suffered mental harm from this and so has become really withdrawn from us.”
