He needs to watch game tape on Bubu. Nobody can/could get to the rim and draw contact like Bubu. I don't think he EVER finished a drive but he sure drew a lot of fouls.

I don't usually bag on refs, but I will make an exception. That offensive foul they called on Kane last night when he did the reverse pivot was BS

I don't remember exactly, but I think Kane stuck his arm out and put it into the defender. That will almost always get you called for an offensive foul whether you're actually pushing off or not.

He gets fouled on almost every drive. Fouls should get called based on whether or not the contact is allowed under the rules - not by whether the player is strong enough to absorb the contact.

In that case, a lot of the time it looks like he's initiating the contact. But since the defenders aren't set for the charge (which I'm surprised more teams aren't trying), it results in a no-call.

according to the new rules regarding impeding a players drive he is getting fouled almost every time he takes it to the basket. Now a lot of those will not be called because he is driving into multiple players. There have been several times when he gets hit by 2 or 3 guys going in and I think the refs are not sure who to call things on, so they do nothing. I still look back at the TT game where one of their players hit Kane in the throat, knocked him down and then tripped over him and kneed him in the nuts. If you can't get the call on that it is going to be a long night.

Funny no one has addressed Kane will likely be injured again if fouls are ignored. Remember how we all freaked over the sprained ankle. I'll go nuts if that happens again at this point of the season.

I haven't noticed whether Kane is getting especially bad treatment from the refs, but I know Jay Bilas and others have talked about how the next point of emphasis in refereeing is going to be judging verticality, particularly when an offensive player is bouncing off a stationary defender or one who is going straight up. What I see when I watch Kane is someone who is seeking a body to bounce off in hopes of getting a call, so it doesn't bother me a lot that he's not getting those calls because, by the rulebook, he shouldn't be getting them.

On the scale of timidity and aggressiveness, Kane is often too aggressive driving to the hoop, and probably needs to pass the ball out rather than throw up a prayer in the hopes of drawing a whistle.

He gets screwed because he's strong and makes a lot of the shots despite the contact. Seems like refs this year are waiting for the shot to miss before blowing the whistle for a foul.

I feel like I've said that to the people next to me at numerous games this year, more than I ever remember saying before. The foul whistle comes after the shot has bounced off or missed the rim.

I think that B12 refs have wizened up to his game. It's almost like he has a separate set of rules. If they are going to call it, he's just going to drive in and shoot FTs every time down the court. I don't mind that he tries it, but like others have said, I wish that he wouldn't complain to the refs every time he doesn't get the call. That costs us at times. He has to know that he's not going to get most of the calls.

I just hope that the NCAA tourney refs don't follow suit with what B12 refs are doing currently. If Kane gets the calls that he got in the nonconference, ISU is going to be a lot tougher to beat.
