I honestly hope Kansas drills the Shockers. Tired of hearing about how great these mid major teams are after winning meaningless game after meaningless game all season.

you mean like 2 tournament games against better competition than ISU or Baylor faced?

Spoken like someone without a clue.

Wichita State ended the series, not KU. KU drilled them in their last game and they called it quits. Now, when they have a semi-decent team they feel they can whine to the media and say "hey we want to schedule them, they just wont" despite Marshall or their AD never ONCE contacting KU about a series?

Maybe you shouldn't talk about things you clearly dont know **** about.

Is your ADs phone broke?

WVU in trouble. The Big 12 is getting killed. Reminds me of the SEC in football.

WVU pulls it off and Okie State goes down. OU seems to be having a difficult time with Albany right now as well (32-39 with 17 left in the 2nd). I never would have guessed that the Big 12 would look this embarassing come tournament time. Kind of puts last weeks tournment in perspective.

Maybe it's just me, but when ISU wins a game or a tournament the first thought that NEVER crosses my mind is "OMG...I need to run over to a message board for another fanbase and start a thread about it".

And people wonder why some fanbases are not very well-regarded...

Maybe YOU don't but other ISU fans do. Or perhaps I imagined those ISU fans talking crap last year after KU lost to Stanford. Did you honestly think ISU fans are above that? All fan bases have their bad eggs. I will admit we do have some arrogant fans. But we've had a lot of success. Find me one program with our level of success that doesn't.

Those ISU fans are probably an average age of 14. A good rule of thumb is to not allow children to get under your skin.

Why would KU play WSU? We would lose revenue. There is no recruiting advantage either. If we lose we get egg on our face and don't hear the end of it for a year. If we win nobody cares...it was Wichita State. Literally there is so much to lose with the game and nothing to gain... There is no reason for the game. This is the same reason WVU wants to get rid of their Marshall game. The same reason Ohio State doesn't want to play Davidson. The same reason other schools avoid in-state teams. There is no benefit. BTW KSU isn't playing them either but nobody is talking about that because KState sucks again.

This.

It goes for social media too, I checked my Facebook after the fact and my hawk friends posted more about ISU's loss then they did about their win. I have posted once including Iowa bball all season and it was only about ISU after we beat them in Iowa City.

Running to another team's website that you don't regularly post on after ISU beats their team or they suffer a loss is just immature. People who do it fully deserved to get flamed.

I have lurked on other boards in the past, but have never posted. I HAVE seen ISU posters over there on Phog...some defending the Clones, some talking smack. I don't remember them actually starting threads on Phog bragging about wins, mostly posting on threads started by KU fans.

One thing I have found amusing is that many KU fans & ISU fans have something in common. It seems twocoach is as controversial on your boards as he is on ours.

Let me tell you, there was no better feeling in the world then when I went over to the Drake University message board back in 2011 after ISU beat UConn in the tournament, and started a thread titled, "Let's Face the Truth."

I understand that all fanbases have that level of jackassery, but that doesn't mean those fans shouldn't get called out for it. I cringe whenever I see ISU fans troll, or think they are trolling, other boards. tuco got banned for being a dbag on this board, he comes back and starts doing the same thing that got him banned. I generally like 76's posting but today he is just being an asshat. I have never understood why someone thinks they should get to be a ****** on someone else's board just because a person from that fanbase did it to them.

Why would KU play WSU? (1) We would lose revenue. There is no recruiting advantage either. If we lose we get egg on our face and don't hear the end of it for a year. If we win nobody cares...it was Wichita State. Literally there is so much to lose with the game and nothing to gain... There is no reason for the game. There is no benefit. BTW KSU isn't playing them either but nobody is talking about that because KState sucks again.

(1) Explain.
(2) I disagree, it would be a win against a ranked team, and a chance to shut up their obnoxious fanbase. I would have loved a shot and uni this year.
(3) Davidson is in North Carolina.

I agree they should be called on it. The post I was responding to was making generalizations on a fan base rather than calling out an individual. The OP deserves to be called a d-bag.

As for the WSU game. We lose revenue because we would have to play in Wichita. We would otherwise play another home game which is significant ticket revenue. Or we would travel to play a bigger school with a bigger payout and recruiting territory. I disagree about "beating a ranked team". We beat ranked teams all the time. Nobody cares. If we lose everybody will be talking about it. We've been there before. They quit the series because they became bad again and got tired of the beat downs. They only come around wanting to play us when they're good. If we start it up again they'll do the same thing in a few years when they're bad again.

And yes I meant Dayton.

Disclaimer: I have a lot of friends that are KU fans and most of them are very nice and respectful towards me as an ISU fan.

However, most of the KU fans that post on the internet act like they are simply a better person because they root for Kansas. I had a person on twitter actually tell me that I had never done anything to warrant any respect simply because I am an Iowa State fan. The attitude is that simply choosing to root for a team that has historically won gave him the right to stick his nose up at me. I gave him a list of some of my personal accomplishments and then asked him how none of that would warrant respect and he didn't answer again. The way to shut up these fans is to actually use intelligence with them. They don't know how to respond to an intelligent line of thought.
