It's our senior night, and we've never lost a senior night. We lost our final home game back in 1982, but back then there was no senior night celebration following the final home game (this tradition started with Roy). So we've got plenty to play for. I would say that winning on senior night is more important to the team/fans than winning in the Big 12 tournament.

We know, we know, the B12 Tournament means nothing to KU fans....well the last 2 anyway.
Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Did you not see what Kansas just did to a Texas team fresh off a win against Oklahoma?!? ISU isn't winning on Saturday.

Yep.....I also saw KU unexpectedly get blown out by OSU earlier this year. A KU win this weekend will have to be earned. The Clones will come to play.

The best part is only one team has something to lose. Great opportunity for ISU. I don't expect a win but I wouldn't be shocked if we did

i will say this---you guys really want to beat Iowa state.

I guess. It is really not the same now that Hoiberg is gone. We had a nice rivalry. I would have bet ISU to be the team to eventually end the streak. Now it is most likely Texas.

Saturday will be a huge game for us because it is our Senior Night, and not because we are playing Iowa State. It would be just as important of a game if we were playing the 6th best team in the conference. Oh wait, we are...

KU has never lost on senior night. No team has swept KU since 2011. Bill Self never been swept in the Big 12. Niang has never won @ KU. Around 2 year home winning streak for KU.

Lots of trends to *****-slap on Saturday.

Hoiberg's biggest margin of victory against KU was 11 pts. Prohm has never lost to Kansas and has won by an average margin of 13.0 pts in his career

Fully understand any team winning in Lawarence is a large undertaking but, individuals giving this team no chance hasn't been watching ISU/KU games the past 4 years.
ISU hasn't won in at the Phog but has been victorious the last two meetings at the KC tournament which is a defacto KU home game (not to mention already winning the game at Hilton earlier this year). ISU has given KU the most problems in the league (other than OSU) consistantly the past 3 years and still has the players skills and system that give Self's and his current personel fits. Add in the one thing left for Georges in the Big 12 is win @ KU, he'll be locked in.
KU will, rightfully so, be favored but I fully expect it'll be a good competitve game and will be fun to watch. I can't wait for Saturday @3.

I know this sounds strange, because I actually agree with everything you just said, ...but still say our chances are slim and none. And yes, I have watched all the great KU/ISU games. As much as I love this team, I'm not confident that we can avoid any stretches such as those we've seen vs. OSU and KST lately. Of course, they've still done a lot of great things, remain ranked, and good moments ahead hopefully. BUT.., it just always seems a 'struggle' for this team, with great bright spots/stretches thrown in. Getting 40 minutes and peak performances from all players is maybe a tad unrealistic for any team, but to me it would take that to win at Phog on senior night against their team this year who happens to be playing awfully well right now. (compared to what we witnessed in Ames). But, hey, if we can somehow stay in the game until the end, maybe we'll get the break for once. There's my 'slim'. : ) Personally, I hope everyone, media included, doubts the crap out of them this week, and they go play with a chip on their shoulder.

With ISU being the 6th best team, your boys have slunk off the court with an aweful lot of Niang gravy on their chins recently.

There is no question that KU puts a lot of stock in Senior Day. That being said, thinking that Self won't use the poor play of KU at the end of game in Ames as a little revenge factor extra motivation for his team is a bit short sighted. This isn't just another mundane Senior Day game for KU.

I want Niang to blow them a kiss on his way out with the 'W'
I think he should take it up a level - after sinking the winning 3 Georges along with the entire team & coaching staff runs to half court and moons crowd index finger extended!

Prohm has never lost to KU. That includes never losing in the Phog. ISU by 12.

Should be a great game. Hopefully it's an instant classic that can showcase the Big 12.

Niang gravy...lol. That's some disturbing imagery. Hard to argue with the standings in a league that plays a true round robin. We lost to OSU too.

I hope you are right, and Prohm can sustain the ISU program at the level that Hoiberg brought it to. I would rather have ISU than Texas as our primary competitive rival in the league. You guys are passionate about basketball and it makes it more fun. Unfortunately, my suspicion is that this will be Prohm's best year at Iowa State. Just like Bruce Weber's first year at Kansas State was his best. Remember also that Bruce Weber's best year at Illinois was his first year, and Prohm's best year at Murray St. was his first year. Some coaches are better at running a team than they are at building a team. But we'll see. I hope I'm wrong.

Pretty much every Kansas fan I've talked to in Lawrence or Kansas City has said the same which I really respect. Most of you guys can be good when you're not going out of your way to be arrogant.
