This thread was more fun for me than you, I'm sure. Just a couple add-on's:
Snyder likes to play his men against your boys. The best back on this squad was a red-shirted freshman named Dalvin Warmack, not the guys who played this fall. He has a way with roster management that's lost on most fans, and that's key to his developmental expertise.
Second, K-State rules Kansas. Thus, he gets the best kids, generally, both from high schools and JUCO's. That's also the reason Fry told him not to take the Ames job.
And finally, Snyder, in the end, always has high quality athletes with great values. Tyler Lockett is a prime example of what we all would want in our student-athletes, All-American both in academics and athletics.
Had Snyder taken the ISU job back in the 80's, K-State would probably be in the Mountain West Conference today. And you likely don't know that he was like the third or fourth choice back then behind - amongst others - BC's Jack Bicknell, Doug Flutie's coach.
Finally, Jake Waters chose K-State over Penn State but has often alluded to his affection for ISU. It's never been clear to me if your staff offered or simply backed-off at the end. CPR has also spoken to the matter but not directly.
