He also has receivers who have no clue as to how to run routes. A lot of his picks this season, including last night, have been because receivers are not where they're supposed to be or aren't finishing their routes.

Why did Orton fight through those same problems much better?

Regardless of the talent around Cutler the organization mortgaged the future to bring him to Chicago and will have a hard time surrounding him with talent. Hester will never be a legit #1 WR mainly because by time he figures it out he will no long have the speed and agility that makes him so special. By time they manage to bring in some decent WRs and O-linemen the D will be WAY past their prime and some will argue that it already is. Cutler has proven that he is NOT an elite QB right now and even if he does dedicate himself to his chose profession I don't think the organization will put him in a position to succeed.

Before anyone jumps all over me as a hater due to me being a Vikings fan I will say I did not like Cutler at Vandy or Denver and I have always respected the Bears organization for their history in the NFL. Though They have not had a consistent solid QB since Johnny Lujack. (McMahon was injured too much to be considered consistent but he was a winner)

I said that Cutler will be on the short list of best in the game once Brady, Manning, Brees etc are reaching the end.
I didn't say he's be there after Week 9 of his first year, calm down he's going to be great.
He has a brutal line in front of him on top of that no one other than Olsen would start in thier roles on any team in the league...

When his head catches up with his physical talent he'll be tough to beat. You don't trade players with that much talent, having said that it would't have worked in Denver, he's too bull-headed.

Cutler has underperformed for sure but how many of 2 or 3 of those picks were not his fault last night.

But way to base a career on 9 games.

If there is anyone who thinks Orton is better than Cutler, please stand up.

I'm standing. Orton 6-2 Cutler 4-5. Oh and as a Denver fan we saw plenty of his crappy play his entire stint in Denver.

CycloneJoe obviously thinks that Cutler's career will be defined by just this season, makes perfect sense to me. :jimlad:

I think the biggest problem with the Bears right now is fans with absolutely unrealistic expectations for their QBs. When the Bears made that trade earlier this year, my brother-in-law began running his mouth about how the Bears were going to play in the Super Bowl this year. I then informed him that was highly unlikely because while I did like the trade, Cutler still had no one to throw to, as well as the D was beginning to look like it was past their prime (and this was before I realized that the offensive line and running game were highly overappreciated as well). He did the whole "whatever" thing with me. He pretty much doesn't want to talk about it now because he knows I was right.
