Ward is long in the arms. He's a taller Deonte Burton.
I’m getting this pick-up with the relationship standpoint, and that’s about it. Hope I’m wrong!
I am now projecting, with Big 12 refs, that his foul output per game will roughly double at ISU.
Gilbert is a very fast and long guard with impressive finishing abilities and has demonstrated that he CAN hit threes. He struggled in Mountain West play this year (a very good league) and probably could benefit from a change in scenery. I like the fit for ISU and see him starting probably at the 3 spot. He has 2 years to play which is exciting as well.
A little off topic but is it just me or does it seem like our +- goes up with Ward in the game. Glad he is coming back. By the way, nice pickup on Gilbert.

I get a “I like to go home and kick myself in the balls” vibe from some people.
Big fan of this pickup. He can make outside shots and made a big jump from first year to second. I expect him to be a double digit scorer for us and should be able to hit a couple of three’s on average per game.

Players need to redshirt their freshman year and finish a a grad program after their eligibility is up or they don't love Ames enough.
