As someone who is absolutely terrified of public speaking I think he may have some similar kind of anxiety. Unless you know what it feels like it is hard to explain. Knowing I’m on national TV or forever memorialized in the internet would be crippling to me. Being interviewed live on national TV in an arena of 18,000+ people would send me into full on anxiety attack.

I think we take for granted that all these kids (and some of the coaches) don’t struggle with this kind of stuff. But that’s a huge assumption.

If it sounds like I’m trying to analyze Keshon I apologize. I’m just speaking from experience that if you’re not comfortable in those situations they can become really, really overwhelming.

With that said, wonder what Rebel Girl is up to? Another hot take gone wrong on her part…

I love Keshon and honestly it’s one of the things I love most about him. We kind of get used to these Niang/Tyrese kinds of guys. But hearing him stand up there and just say “I ain’t used to all this” just makes me so happy for him. He might not be used to it but he absolutely earned it all with his play on the court.

The question that reporter asked him at the press con after the game tonight was incomprehensible. Even this Ph.D. guy didn't have a clue what the reporter was expecting for an answer.
lol that reporter was stirring. He wanted the answer to be “we kicked everyone’s ass cuz we the **** that’s what we did.”

CW alluded to it in the postgame that Keshon had an amazing story, and he wouldn't say more because he said deserves more of a feature story treatment (paraphrasing) and that they would do that at some point. Can't wait to see that.

I feel bad for him when the reporters ask a long question. He isn't good at just flowing with an answer. If he continues to do this well as an athlete he needs some public speaking help.

Speaking as a shy person, I don't know that will change for him. But who cares? He's nice and gives good answers. That's enough :)

I've had a soft spot for him since the post game press conference at the Iowa game when Rob said "it gets louder" in reference to Hilton. And he was visibly shocked by that. And ever since then, he's been a guy that just looks like he is completely aware of his good fortune and that makes me happy.

One thing I hate about NIL and transfers is that fans don't often really get to know these guys. Part of what makes this fun for me is getting to see players year after year and getting to know them. I miss that. But a positive about the transfers is every once in a while you get a guy like Keshon who absolutely appreciates the opportunity and that's very awesome too.

TJ did the same thing to him on Thursday night. Keshon had to ask TJ to repeat the question. It was essentially, "how do you focus so well?" (which was hilarious after not being able to follow TJ's meandering question).

There is (understandably) so much “coach-speak” from players. It’s the moments like this (or Omaha’s face just lighting up when CW asked him about Hilton South) that I love.
