Khabib hired a nutritionist and changed his approach. He'll be fine for this one so long as he hasn't had an injury or something.
I know. I still think the challenge remains. Having them on board for this camp increases the likelihood it is a successful cut.

Heard on a Joe Rogan podcast that Khabib started a camp weighing less than he usually does. Meaning he used to start at 200 and work towards 155 but this time he started at 180-ish.
I had not heard or read this. That is interesting.

Mendez had his way until he ran out of gas. Khabib won't run out of gas. He just has to avoid the hammer.

That’s what I’m saying. Mendez took the fight on one or two week notice and had no
Problem getting to Connor.

Conor has Dillon Danis on his team who is world class at BJJ. Gotta assume he’s been working with him a ton to try and get ready for Khabib

That's irrelevant to this fight. I'm not saying Khabib won't get to him but with his ACL situation, it's really hard to use that fight as an example. You could also talk about Mendes getting to him but not finishing him.

Khabib. He is an elite grappler, and puts a ton of pressure on the opponent. He will take McGregor down, and I think he’ll keep him there.

IMO, McGregor’s only chance is early, and he’ll have to land one on the button.

Khabib is an elite level grappler but his striking and movement is average at best. He's not overly athletic and I see him having trouble getting his hands on Conor to get him to the ground.

The flip side of that is Conor was preparing for a striker up until Aldo backed out so he likely wasn't devoting too much time to his wrestling in that camp. IMO it's just a testament to how "game" Conor is with taking a short notice fight with a completely different style opponent.

Regarding the fight on Saturday, I think Tre4ISU hit the nail on the head earlier in this thread.

I wish I could start a poll in the middle of a thread.

So far we've discussed who everyone picks to win but who is everyone cheering for? I can't see many people cheering for Khabib because he's Russian. But I can also see many people not liking Conor's media antics.

Who are you cheering for?

Conor. I want this thing to keep rolling and Khabib's boring. A Khabib Ferguson promo tour would be perhaps the most painful media tour in the history of the sport. I also understand that Conor is putting on an act 95% of the time and I don't think he's really the guy that he shows to the world. He's done a lot of things behind the scenes that indicate otherwise. He's good for the sport. Him losing and going back to fight Floyd again to make a bunch of money and be done is not.

I'm cheering for Conor as well. His media antics and fight style are way more entertaining than Khabib and at the end of the day I just want to be entertained.

Top five athlete of all time in terms of overall entertainment value. Everyone watching his fights is watching because they love him or hate him...and it's easy to love the guy even if you know he's kind of a jack@$$. Plus the Irish people I know who are fans of his are such good people that I end up cheering for him for them.

I would consider MMA/boxing a sport where it happens in a neutral location. There is no road/home team... until McGregor fights. The Irish back him to an insane degree and Khabib will be fighting McGregor and the crowd.

Khabib. I enjoy Conor but he's already rich and could stand to be humbled. I have nothing against Russians.

No dog in the fight for me. Don’t give a rat’s ass who wins. Just want a fight that is entertaining for multiple rounds.

If it goes the distance but boring, screw that. If it ends in the 1st minute, screw that.

I want a Forrest Griffin or BJ Penn/Dan Henderson type fight.
