Conor isn't working his way back up. Dana can give him the big fights he wants, or not, but he isn't going to go fight Anthony Pettis to prove himself.

Also, I'd like to give Dillon Danis some credit. When Khabib came after him in the crowd, that guy wasn't backing down or running away. He went for it.

Dillan Danis would have got murdered by Khabib. Danis is a BJJ guy and the time I watched him fight in Bellator he was super slow.

I was away from civilization for the whole weekend but I'm really enjoying the significant portion of the internet explaining to me that Malace in the Palace II is totally fine and even necessary if someone were trash talking and needed to be shown not to trash talk.

I think it's funny how upset Khabib seems to be about the talk when he's the one who started all of it. It shows how ill-suited he is to these fights and how few big fights he's actually been in. It didn't matter but Conor was quite clearly in his head even though it didn't seem to matter.

The real ******** was Khabibs guys jumping in and going after Conor. That's just insanely stupid and no, comparing this to when Conor jumped out of the ring and yelled at Aldo with clearly zero intention of physical altercation, is not prudent.

Going out of the Octagon into the crowd is not ever the right thing to do. And the blame for it is on Khabib. However, some blame should also be shouldered by Dana White and the UFC. They stoked the fires for the sake of promotion. This article puts it well.

I also call BS on Dana White's crocodile tears in post fight interviews. He talks about how this was terrible for the UFC. Bullcrap. This is going to make them a ton of money. You can't buy publicity like this. He'll put on a somber face, but inside he's got to be bursting with joy. The UFC is going to make bank on this.

Before the fight, there was a rumor (from Brendan Schaub on a JRE Podcast) that Khabib might retire and go out on top if he won. Well he won. Mix the win with the aftermath and he could walk away. If he doesn't he is going to probably fight Tony Ferguson. That will be fun to watch.

If McGregor wants a title again he's going to have to do one of three things: hope Khabib retires and 155 opens up, move back to 145 or figure out how to wrestle.

Just an embarrassing display all around. Regardless of who's really to blame for the post fight **** show or if Dana White is actually remorseful, that was pathetic and the UFC looks ridiculous. I don't watch MMA regularly anymore but when I do, it's Bellator all the way. They've got some guys who are well past their prime and that's putting it nicely but there are some exciting up and comers. I'd rather watch Aaron Pico, AJ Mckee, or Baby Slice in a random fight with no build up than the manufactured Conor show.

Khabib may want to retire. It doesn't matter. He'll do what he's told to do.

If they stood up, sure, but Danis is as good of BJJ guy that there is in the UFC and with Khabibs style, where he wants to be on the ground, that could of be interesting.

I read something else with more or less the same sentiment:

I don't excuse Khabib for doing what he did, and it warrants punishment. But he wasn't the only culpable one. Dana White let things get out of hand and McGregor went way over the line with his prefight trash talk.

There are other videos now that show Connor was up on the cage throwing punches at them and then jumped back into the cage to fight. Then the guy in red jumps in and starts throwing punches. So was it wrong. yeah but Connor was fighting as well.

Am I the only one that thinks all of this is not that big of a deal. It's MMA not Basketball or Football. All the guys punching after the fight are fighters. Don't call a guys religion and family out if you don't want this stuff to happen.

Well if that's what Khabib wanted, he signed up to fight the wrong guy. Any maybe if he didn't want that **** to happen, you don't gang up on people when you know they're alone. People forget that's what started the whole thing. Even Nate Diaz had Conor's back in this deal. Then again, Diaz understands the game. I don't think Khabib does.

I can't believe I'm going to say this (read: agree with Stephen A) but after the fight the UFC team of Ariel, Chael and STEPHEN A SMITH (WHAT) covered it best stating how at least the post-fight stuff was between teams and the crowd was not involved. It is nothing compared to Ron Artest running into the stands to attack fans. The UFC will survive this just like the NBA survived that.

The biggest difference it the UFC will Thrive off this. This made them another 100 million. If Khabib just dominates Connor like he did and then nothing else happens. How do they sell a rematch for a fight that was basically one sided and Khabib did whatever he wanted. They could but it would not get as much attention. Now they have this to build it up.

I don't see how they give Conor a rematch without letting Ferguson at Khabib first.

What a terrible sport. Sorry. I know I'll get an earful for saying that, but that's just a moronic sport.

Embarrassing for who? This will only help the UFC. I'm not condoning it, however.
