The Iowa State women's basketball team (13-13, 5-10 Big 12) returns to Hilton Coliseum to square off with Kansas State (17-9, 7-8 Big 12) on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The game will air on Cyclones.tv.

Radio: Cyclone Radio Network/Learfield
Talent: Rich Fellingham (PxP), Molly Parrott (Color)
TV: Cyclones.tv

We're visiting in Sacramento area - likely will go to Solomon Young's tournament game - no time to post for this, but no one started a thread. As noted in other threads - this is huge for our post season chances - KSU has a big interest - this could affect their NCAA chances. KSU has 48 RPI. She who shall not be named got 8 pts in the 84-79 win at Manhattan. We should get this - play hard with heart the whole game.

Seanna is not playing. Home in MN with her dad. Sounds like some health issues with him, according to Rich.

Hope everything turns out OK with him.

Someone posted yesterday that he had a stroke.

Looks like they're double teaming the post early on. Seems to be working ok. We just are not a good shooting team, but we're on a little run now and up 11-10.

Being out shot 53% to 24% and outrebounded 26-12. Won't be in many games with those stats. Thought Kidd was going to get hot for once, but that was short-lived.

Would have thought in a blowout game that Jensen would have at least seen the court the last couple of minutes.

Never heard of this. Had to google it. Just no to this.

Time to end the season and not get anyone hurt more and prep for next year.

Could not disagree more. The game is for the players. No matter what the sport, players don't want the season to end. They want to play. I guarantee you our "players" would vote to play more, no matter what the tournament is...

Would love to see BF go to the bench in this game, and not pull them with every little mistake. What's he got to lose with Seanna out?

You pretty much got your wish. Too bad nobody could hit the broadside of a barn tonight.

Things got pretty rugged in the 3rd & 4th qtr, poor shooting doomed this game, late in the 4th our 3pt.% was higher than our FG%. It was nice to see as many people play as we did, just too many missed shots.

Weird stat of the game: with around a minute and a half left, Kidd stole the ball but had it stolen right back. That was ISU's only turnover.

It was a weird game, period. No flow for ISU. A couple of bright spots, but this team is doing things, or not doing things, that are so unlike a Cyclone wbb team.

The odds may have been against us given Seanna being away and K-State playing well lately. But you hoped for a competitive game. That hope disappeared before the first quarter was over.

These players are good enough that even with no game plan, they would shoot better than 20% and get more than 8 offensive rebounds.

I was disappointed in CBF's post-game radio comments. He complained about this being his worst-shooting team. That may be true based on stats, but why? The players are good shooters.

Also complained about the rebounding, acknowledging that Seanna makes a difference in there. Kidd was the high rebounder with 6. You can't argue with either of those complaints.

But he seemed to put it all on the players. Okay, yes, they are the ones playing the game. But when the stats for all the players are low, then maybe it's not just the players, maybe the coaches should be doing something differently. Maybe they need to be doing something to put players in better positions, maybe they need let players get comfortable and get on a run, maybe take a more positive and supportive teaching approach.

When the team as a whole underperforms over a period of time, it isn't just inconsistency by players. Admittedly limited practice time could be the main reason. It could be that simple. But we've grown accustom to the coaches making up for some shortcomings. Not so this year, and maybe the opposite effect.
