Than they will hire a Lawyer who graduated from Iowa and prosecute me :wideeyed:

There's a decent chance that that U of I lawyer is an ISU undergrad and a Clone fan.

Everyone acts like all the lawyers and doctors in Iowa are Hawk fans, but I would bet those that went to a major university for undergrad (be it ISU or otherwise) are more loyal to their undergrad. I know a few drs/lawyers who went to ISU for undergrad, and U of I for grad school, and they all support their undergrad first.

One of the "owners" of Kum & Go has a very nice house in Okoboji.. :jimlad:
When I was in school, I worked summers '82-'85 at the Okoboji Kum and Go. The Krauses would fly into the Okoboji airport on weekends, and it was kinda "my job" to pick them up and take them to their house and also to take the cars to the carwash and wash them, (Mercedes sedan (MR's)Mercedes convertible(MRS')/Porsche,(the "kids")/custom van) Kinda cool as a 20 yr old kid to get to drive those cars. Bill and his wife treated me very well,(we would always rib each other about ISU/UI, the boys however were d-bags, their daughter was nice:yes::wink:

If Kevin Krause truly is who you say he is, what a tool - he only took the River Bandits, one of the top 10 most marketable sports identities in Minor League Baseball (semipro teams from New York were using the Bandits logo) and flushed that all down the toilet for the "Swing", one of the most mocked identities in all of sports.

All of us in the QC area were relieved when the new owners had the brainpower to bring back the identity (or at least to include the identity in a public vote, one that everyone knew was going to win), updated to include the previous mascot Rocky and the Centennial Bridge, one of the landmarks of the area.

All that is left to do is return the name to John O'Donnel.

This spring when I was finishing my CE degree here at ISU do you know what my real life Capstone Senior Design project was on?

Kraus' organic-sustainable farm just west of Des Moines. A place we actually visited an got a tour from Mrs. Kraus who was a very nice and suprisingly very educated lady.

While they maybe be Hawks fans they are not Anti ISU fans.

I buy gas wherever it is most convenient for me. For me it is ludicrous to drive farther than I need to just to avoid a certain gas station because of their affiliation with a school. It is not like K&G advertise Hawk products in their stations anymore than ISU.

Besides, based on their color choice, they cleary wanted to be Clones but just were not quite cool enough

Yeah Kevin was behind all of that. I worked for them the 2nd year they were the swing. Then he sold them, and the new owners went back to the Riverbandits in like... less then 6 months. Good call on their part. Kevin was a grade A ***hole. Made me laugh that he was in the Herkey Costume when it got taken out at the Rose Bowl... I'll find a clip or picture...

That is the most embarassing names in all of business. I was back in Ankeny about 3 weeks ago and it still makes me laugh.

I don't know, Minnesota has a convenience chain called "Pump and Munch".

Still, I will avoid Kum and Go for the very reason that Krause is a big UI donor IF there is another choice nearby (as in across the street).

I learned earlier today that Kum & Go gas stations are owned by a huge Iowa Squakeye booster. A) Why haven't I heard of this previously? and B) Do any of you do business there??

I'm thinking about boycotting them. Maybe I'm over thinking things? LOL.
He throws big money to the hols but also supports ISU. I don't go there mostly because it isn't convenient to me.

As far as gas goes, I prefer CONOCO. I never knew it until I lived in colorado but CONOCO stands for COlorado Nebraska Oil Company

Just to throw some more gas on the fire - I think Pancharos and that Kin Folks in Altoona are owned by Hawk fans.

I go to Claxon's in Altoona for my barbque - it's better than Kin Folks.

Continue discussion.

Of course the OP is a troll. Kind of a pathetic (yet sadly effective) effort on his part, but I'll play along for a bit from my point of view.

I don't believe that if we want to completely be our own university and are striving to be THE institution of the state, we separate ourselves from everything Hawkeye. Krause is a big booster for them? Cool, good for him/them, but we shouldn't be involved in anything that has to do with him/them. We're going to have money pouring in soon with these new conference negotiations, I feel, so so what if we lose a little here and there for the greater good. They still need us whether they admit it or not. If we don't play them (and I don't want to, every year at least) then they won't get some big in-state recruits that are just looking at who wins more head to head games.

I have to go to Community State bank and cancel my account as they did the Chizek coin. when he left, I threw 5K worth of the coins in Des Moines River.

seriously, between this and the Clayborn thread, we Clones look like professional victims.
