Alexander was ALWAYS going to be a one and done, his mom probably thought she could get the loan money without having any blow back from the NCAA before the season was over. Not the first time.

The question is, who turned him in? It wasn't Alexander, his mom or the agent's finance company.

Bill Self. Clearing up some roster space? Wouldn't have had to, as Alexander was gone at the end of the year anyway.

Maybe the agent was using the loan as blackmail to make sure Alexander signed with their agency after the year, and the family decided to go elsewhere.

I like the comments at that article.

"If KU has to vacate all their wins, do they still get in The Tourney because they're Kansas?"

reply:

"If KU has to vacate all their wins, "Big 12 Officials" will take their place in the tourney as a 5 seed."

Stupid mobile phone. Gave myself a thumbs up because I fatfingered the screen.

Or I guess you could say I gave myself a "mobile Woodberry".

Not playing in the tourney per Self. He gone.

Talk about a bust, who was the other bust they had a few years ago I think he was a guard?

IMO this will hurt our chances with Diallo big time.

Maybe, maybe not. Does this mean he gone for good? And if he is, does Diallo prefer KU? I don't think any of us know exactly what he's thinking.

1. He's not officially gone for good but it's highly likely that he'll have to declare now otherwise there'll be a lot of NCAA snooping around to get answers from the mom.

2. I have no idea what Diallo is thinking but if Cliff is gone that opens up A LOT of PT for Diallo. Ellis will be back and Diallo can be the dominant shot blocker they are accustomed to having playing along side the scorer in Ellis.

Here nor there
Another major recruit bust for KU. I bet we don't hear much on what happened, which is no doubt in KU's best interest. Izzo backed off for a reason.

KU will still have a formidable frontline returning. With Self's stubbornness in dealing with freshman, Lucas was on the verge of passing Alexander anyways. They will return both starters, plus major rotation guy and part-time starter in Traylor, and already have a top recruit in Bragg. They also have a shot blocker in Mickelson that has been getting time lately. Unlike Hoiberg, Self is pretty ridged in positions so I don't see a lot of easy minutes for another big guy. At ISU Diallo would be the biggest player on the roster and only one of two taller than 6'7".

Cliff Alexander #3 - 2014 Kansas
Josh Selby #5 - 2010 Kansas
BJ Mullens #5 - 2008 Ohio State

These are the only 3 top 5 players in the last 7 ESPN Top 100 classes that weren't really good in college or go onto have really good pro careers.

Don't they have a big time center to come in? Ellis is not playing the 3
