Here nor there
KU isn't affected by Cliff's parents talking to the ncaa. Odds are that the dollar amount was large enough that he wouldn't be able to come back by the end of the year anyways so there really isn't any reason at all for them to answer questions if their plan is for Cliff to go to the draft anyways. They thought Cliff was on the fast track and never imagined that he would struggle to understand the playbook and his assignments as much as he did. Another family that believed their high school hype too much.

You are as naive as you are ignorant. A true representative of the KU faithful.

Is it possible KU's bigs can be worse next year than they are right now?
If KU lands zero good big man recruits with their three remaining scholarships (if Cliff and Oubre leave), yes. I don't put the odds of that as very high, though. We'll see in the next month or so.

This is a thread with 125+ posts on a KU player. Seems like there wasn't a problem at all finding KU discussion.

Propaganda =/= Discussion. There has been plenty of quality discussion to be had, it is the KU kool-aid that I've been missing.

There isn't anything to be naive about in this particular case. The facts of the situation which are readily available to anyone with access to the internet just don't fit the "KU cheats" assumption. You're simply hoping for something that didn't happen. I get it, no biggie. I would hope for the same if I was in your shoes, too. As for the "ignorant" is there some fact about the situation that I am not stating correctly or am not aware of or have we already resorted to name calling on my first morning back?

Bragg is going to be good and they'll get another big somewhere, just giving you a hard time.

I'm glad you finally changed the avi and got off the Cliff bandwagon. He was horrible even when he played. Wasn't too long ago KU fans thought Bill lost the ISU game in Hilton to "teach him a lesson".

You are very hard up and stubborn about posting here. Especially on a site where no one really gives a **** about your drivel. A true definition of a troll. Is life so bad as a KU fan and in your life where posting here is so important?

I expect a nonsensical post back from you and you to continue posting here frequently. You are incredibly predictable.

A quid pro quo fact is what the NCAA is attempting to sort out. And that's not readily available on the internet.

Lots of good players still to make decisions for next year. Should make for an entertaining month after the tourney ends. Cliff was fine when he didn't have to think but Self was pretty open with the fact that Cliff had to learn by repetition. The underlying impact is that this means he DIDN'T learn by understanding. Bragg will be a decent player in 2-3 years but he isn't a light it up right away freshman. We'll see.

Bragg is another 6'8 205 center. Cliff 2.0. He's already 19 year old.

Self wasn't going to change his slow feet. He didn't bench him the ISU game to "try to teach him a lesson", he couldn't guard anyone.

The Cliff thing still seems fishy to me. I agree on the surface it seems pretty straightforward, Cliff's parents met with an agent and ended up getting a loan ahead of time. They should have known better and there doesn't seem to be much KU implications on the surface.

My question is, why would the loan company ever authorize the loan for a player that they knew could get into eligibility concerns and potentially hurt draft status and earning potential if they got caught. These companies do this for a living and they know the rules, probably better than the parents and players. So to me, I wonder if there is extra motivation there and are there any behind the scenes connections to the university or boosters. It doesn't make sense for a bank to make a loan that could hurt the earning potential of the player, unless someone else was going to back that loan.

Because it happens all the time and people don't get caught

I agree it probably happens all the time. But as a business person, are you going to make that early loan based solely on the players ability, or is someone behind the scenes providing some additional financial assurances that the loan gets repaid.
