Re: Alexander being investigated at KU

For future reference, you should've taken the "NCAA probing Cliff Alexander..." and ran with it.

The NCAA needs to bring in experts. You know, aliens. Aliens know probing. Cartman knows this better than anyone.

Re: Alexander being investigated at KU

A Kansas players family is receiving impermissible benefits? Say it isn't so... Sure this time it was from an NBA agent but in the not so distant past it was directly from Kansas. Anyone remember Danny Manning or Mario Chalmers? I'm sure they aren't the only ones...

After reading more about this, and why I think it's dumb that KU doesn't think this is a problem and why they have lawyered up so hard is because the next step in the money trail from the parents is down to Alexander. Alexander can deny he knew the source but it's still going to bring down a whole bunch of scrutiny. Are these people smart enough to not leave any evidence if the parents and the player were dealing in dirty money? I doubt it. We'll see.

The NCAA is investigating whether the family of Kansas freshman forward Cliff Alexander

So not him personally? Some uncle, cousin, or uncle's cousin's brother's sister's son might have got some money? What are the consequences if people profited off of him with him not getting anything? That sounds like the NCAA and every player out there.

Look, my conspiracy theory guess is that KU knew about this and released the info so that they can get rid of him, since he turned out to be a bust. This way they can clear the way to go after Diallo. Never underestimate the power of cheating.

I doubt Kansas would choose to get rid of him. Sure, he's not Joel Embiid as a freshman, but he's very talented and could develop. His time dropped this year because KU needed to win and with Ellis, Traylor and Lucas, they had enough other talent available.

Ya, he's not good enough to go to the ends of the earth to protect. I see Self sending this guy packing. Neither Bill nor KU needs him.

I just hope this isn't the domino that falls to cause Diallo to go to KU. If he leaves, they will have Ellis, Traylor and Bragg as major contributors in the front court.

That's no less wide open than Niang, McKay and Nader which is who he would be competing against for PT here.

Or I hope he sees a dirty program and doesn't want to associate himself?

That's a possibility but it sounds like it's more likely that Alexander was acting alone.

Yeah, because big time college basketball programs are ALWAYS looking to spread some cash around to distant family members of their big recruits who have no influence whatsoever on that recruit's decision. They have so much cash that it's a "spend it or lose it" situation.

There will be no penalties on KU. Worst case they will blame it on family, say no influence on player. Just like Auburn QB. Protect the important brands, like KU.

If it happened to Kansas STATE -- they'd be nuked. Loss of schollies, vacated wins, post season bans. NCAA is the fox guarding the henhouse. Well, a theiving fox guarding a henhouse filled with cash.

I think were all in the general consensus that nothing will happen to KU. They knew nothing about any of this.....sure gimme a break but ofcourse we know nothing will happen. Good to see them stick it to Syracuse at least though.

How'd that work for USC football?
