how can you not root for other teams in your conference. if the teams we play do well it only makes us look better.

KU already looks better and doesn't need help from anyone else in the conference.

There's a chance the top four teams in our league could all make the final four together. I don't expect it to happen, but who wouldn't like that?

Makes no sense.

Why would you hope that a team with a BPI of 56.1 do something that you could not do two out of three times this year?

Doesn't that make your team look worse?

Get a grip, KU.

Would be great to play Oklahoma in the Final Four and then Baylor in the championship game, after Kansas loses to New Mexico State.

This was the first year that we were at least on the level athletically with them, possibly even slightly superior than them across the board. You haven't been able to say that very often or ever when comparing rosters. Their fans see that along with the superstar we have as a coach. They should be worried. 3 out of 4 is only the beginning.

Here nor there
IMO I wish there were more fanbases like ISU and KU in our conference. KSU is like that when good I suppose.
Big difference if we would have swaped Louisville for TCU (or even went to 11). We would have 3 basketball crazy fanbases and 2 good ones. Half the conference- that would be solid. UT is okay due to sheer size. TT was decent when they were good.

Their thread is exactly why I will root for every Big 12 team, but Kansas I'm like, meh.

Should have taken Louisville instead of West Virginia.

That's not a good representation of their fan base. How would you feel if someone made a sweeping generalization and said all ISU fans are like BDK? I always cheer for big 12 teams outside of conference play, even Kansas. (must be destroyed)
And like I said, BDK is now ISUfan12 over on phog.net and is the primary reason why KU fans over there think that ISU fans are annoying.

he is toolbag.... but that isn't the primary reason. if you read the posts, it is about the hats, our presence in KC and other 'stuff'.

I've always said that a rivalry with KU would require ISU to win more games against them than lose. Winning 3/4 vs KU and finishing 15-6 in games against Big 12 opponents (same as KU) has done that. Damn you Lubbock and Manhattan.

Yeah, I saw the "Big 12 Champions" ad running for some tshirt company over on the side of this site and a ton of Big 12 Champion tshirts in the stands in KC. That's full Mizzou right there and you should expect to be made fun of for it. So it's not totally unearned or unreasonable.

Every team has a few games they wish ended differently. Imagine if the Staten travel was called and if KU learned their lesson and stopped OU from running the court untouched. Two losses on last second plays. Always "what ifs" in every season. Part of the roller coaster ride I suppose.

You realize the big 12 made those and not us right?

HA this dude! Oh I love this one.

I'm rooting for Iowa St. to lose in the 1st round. Their fans walked into our backyard with a new found cocky attitude, as if they were Kentucky or Ohio St. fans. They infiltrated the P and L district and were too stupid to realize that 40,000 fans can't fit into the 19,000 seat Sprint Center. KU's pep rally was 15 percent kansas fans. They have an inferiority complex that didn't used to be that way. 6 years ago, their fans would come to KC and buy you a beer and talk basketball. Not anymore. They need to be put in their place.

Not our fault your school located 40 miles away from the tournament site can't turn out more fans. We did our part to show up. Don't blame us for your poor attendance in your backyard. Many of us came down just to be there, hoping to get tickets but plans to enjoy ourselves if we didn't, and we were quite ok with that just to enjoy the experience of being with our fans and team during some nice weather at a great venue. That's not inferiority, that's just passion. We walked in as Cyclone fans! That's who we are. If anything some of these Jayhawk fans have an insecurity complex. I missed the Big 12 rule that says we must bow down and let them have everything - even when they're not trying in their backyard or claiming "it's a meaningless three day tournament."

Great points. The more they sound like Squak fans, the more I know our program is improving. Just waiting for the "it's their Super Bowl" comments to materialize.

They are definitely sensing us as their primary threat and, more importantly, our team is now believing it and expect to win vs. KU. Next year, we're kicking the regular season championship door down and evicting KU's *** out of there.
