Take two weeks off of any sport and you will not be at peak performance when you return.

Re-injuring or injuring further a knee during a game you apparently otherwise don't seem to care about (except when you win), kinda hurts performance too.

Am I the only one that finds it funny that KU fans try to belittle the big 12 tourney because you just need to get hot for 3 or 4 games. So does the Super Bowl not matter? Does the NCAA tournement simply not matter? KU fans have become somewhat delusional.

Don't you know, a random Tuesday night game in January is more relevant than a head-to-head in the Big 12 tournament?

Are you talking about when he got kneed in the quad and sat the rest of the Baylor game since we were up by 10 or just saying the best way to avoid reinjuring any injury is to not play any more? At some point the doctors clear you to play and you go play. He sprained his knee, it's not a ligament tear. Glad he got the chance to go out there and play some minutes at full speed to get used to playing with that brace on. He seemed to be a little bothered by some issues he had with the brace and how it was rubbing so hopefully this gave him a chance to sort it out and make any adjustments. KU needs him to be distraction free and confident in it when he plays.

If 1 player is the difference between a 2 seed and a 15 seed you have a whole lot more to be worried about than Iowa State fans.
You realize there are more games remaining if they win on Friday, right? Ellis will probably play 20-25 minutes or so Friday to continue to get used to the brace so he's as ready as he can be once they start facing more formidable teams.

I missed where I said Kansas wasn't trying to win. They obviously were. Every team wants to win their games at this time of year. That doesn't change the fact that the results of the tournament were totally irrelevant for either team and their ncaa tourney seedings.

I missed where I said that the results didn't happen to be irrelevant to both teams this year in regards to tournament seedings. You missed my point altogether.

You said that Perry Ellis played to avoid rust. Your words. I said that is asinine, which it is. You claim that players cannot come back after 2 weeks off and play at peak performance. I am simply telling you that is nothing other than a hasty generalization.

Lebron James came back after two weeks due to injury. His statline was 33pts, 7 rebs, 5 ast, 1 steal. 61% shooting from the floor and 38% from 3.

I don't have time to look up every time a player came back off a two week layoff, but to act as though a player cannot come back and play like themselves or whatever you define as "peak performance" after two weeks off recovering from an injury just isn't true.

Better to knock the rust off and get in game shape prior to the tourney than IN the tourney, don't you think?
