It is too bad he has to redshirt next year, he would play a lot and likely would surpass his NCSt numbers in Hoiball.

You would think he would have interest in ISU. He will be assured 30+ minutes a game and fits Hoiball well.

I like that he wouldn't be eligible until 2016-17, we will have some holes to fill. I have a feeling a big man who can play this season will be signed.

Also, just another tidbit that I have been hearing.. Don't be suprised if Kerwin Okoro gets alot of PT this year. He could be the next Chris Babb as in a lockdown defender. I also have seen him, he's built like a Mack Truck..
Remind me not to listen to what this guy is "hearing".

No ISU yet though I guess he'll have more schools that will be in contact.

Other than Xavier I'd agree, they are THE most underrated program in the country. They live in the sweet 16

That's true, they also do a great job of developing coaches, Pete Gillen, Skip Prosser, Matta, Sean Miller, Chris Mack. They lose one coach and the next guy just step in and keeps it going.

Somewhat surprised we haven't contacted as it appeared to be a no brainer due to past recruiting efforts. Hopefully, you're right that more schools, including ISU, will be contacting him.

If we're passing on him, perhaps it's because we are in the process of landing a better player? We'll find out soon enough.

I would much rather pick up a stud from a smaller school looking to upgrade where he plays..

vs picking up a highly rated recruit leaving his school because he isnt playing.

Totally agree on that sentiment. It feels like those that transfer from a power school are what they are. They have already played against power schools with talented teammates and were meh they wont be better at another power school. But pick up a stud from a small school that isnt used to playing with talented teammates and has had some success against power schools, for the most part they will improve dramatically.

Or they won't be ready for the tougher competition at all and will regress... it goes both ways.

If we haven't reached out I'm sure there's more to it than just timing with CFH in hospital. Clearly there must be other recruits in the works.

There are 700 players transferring this year. If the NCAA gives up a special exemption to have 713 scholarships next year, we can take them all. Since they probably aren't going to do that, we need to be pretty selective.

Not with that attitude.

Didnt we initially pass on finishing up the recruitment process with him due to the minor violations at the time so Fred backed off? Then he landed at NC State with Lutz? I could be wrong but i thought that was mentioned before

Lol I wasn't hearing anything but I had high hopes for Okoro. Nobody bothered to tell me back then that some recruits are bound to be busts.

Ya, and in the world of distasteful comments yours is scoring fairly high right now. Okoro had a death in the family which is one of major reasons why he ended up leaving...
