Poster(s) have said not to expect much out of Kasongo citing inside sources. I'm hoping he takes an enforcer type roll. Guessing you wont hear anything from the coaches on these two till spring. Hopefully other posters have more incite as I just know what I've heard here

I pretty sure Lard is not practicing with the team yet, and I no one has said a thing about Kasongo. One would assume he his practicing with the team, but I'm not even sure that's been confirmed.

I've heard a couple posters use the word "enforcer" and Kasongo together. I guess I don't see it. The guy is 6'9 230, and when I've seen his stature, he looks more like a McKay type than a Solomon Young or Jared Homan type.
I see him and Lard being pretty similar, long and athletic bigs that can get out and run.

Why wouldn't Lard be practicing with the team? I would expect Kasongo to be like a Holden. Might give them a couple minutes a game but that's about it.
Last I heard was they didn't want to throw him straight into team practices. This was earlier this month, so maybe he is now, I dunno. Sorta makes sense, let him do the lifting and shooting, but not have to thrown on the scout team.

Wasn't Lard a higher ranked recruit than Solomon Young? If Lard could do what Solomon has done the last few games that'd be great.

Yes he was higher ranked. He probably would have been higher too if he had played a full senior season.

Way up there

His film from juco would suggest otherwise, maybe he's changed but all of his highlights were in the half court, definitely a bruiser. If a guy isn't running the floor in juco, I wouldn't expect him to do it at the next level as seemingly all juco bigs can run the floor.

Lard is practicing with the team. I don't believe he rotates in when they are working on plays/scout team but he does all the individual work with the guys when they break up.

Kasongo looks the part but like others have said, I wouldn't expect a big impact next year. ISU will really need to go find another big for next year.

Lard came directly from high school. Where is this JUCO film you are talking about?

When I see Kasango at home games, he has one of those tough, expressionless faces. like Solomon Young. Lard is much more expressive on the sidelines. Looking forward to seeing their contributions this summer in the Cap City League and next season.

Hate to pee in your Cheerios but I'm not expecting much at all from Kosango.

Lard ... I think he will be about what SHOULD have been the expectation. However because it took so long for him to get her, those expectations have been ramped up for one reason or another. Best case, he starts and is a good role player as a freshman. Worst case, he struggles to find PT. I find that hard to believe though based off of what Iowa State's front court looks likes heading into next year.

Remember, the plan is to add a fifth-year post too this offseason.
