Are we sure we are in? Everyone on Twitter is making it seem like we are on the line of being out of the tournament.
If you look at the season as a whole (as they're supposed to do), we are in. The committee valued Q1 wins in the initial release, so to leave us out would be quite the pivot from that criteria.

Why doesnt that make sense? That is literally what "last 4 byes" means.

It’s not too tough to grasp.

There are 68 total teams in the field, meaning there has to be 4 teams eliminated before we have a field of 64, which is divisible by 16 and 4. 4 regionals with 16 teams in each region = 64.

There are 4 at large teams who have to play in the first four games (the other 4 teams are not at larges…in the tournament via autobid for winning a small conference tournament), hence “in the tournament” (field of 68) but they do not receive a bye since they have to play an extra game to get into the field of 64.

The “last 4 with byes” are already in the field of 64, meaning they do not have to play an extra game in “The First 4”.

I'm of the mindset that the play-in games are just that, 8 teams playing to get into the real tournament. And to consider the other 60 teams as having "byes" is dumb.

Especially when you look at the bracket and all the games on Thursday/Friday are considered "First Round" games. If you're playing in the First Round of something you're not getting a bye.

Ok…so your confusing yourself by being stubborn. Cool.

I've been on Twitter quite a bit and I haven't noticed any of that.

Everyone is vehemently opposed to the notion, but I wouldn’t be stunned whatsoever if we were on the outside looking in. What about a Iowa State vs. Drake matchup in the 1st round of the NIT at Hilton. They like to pit teams within region during the 1st round.

Teams like Iowa that don't play defense
I hear ya, but I think that ship has passed- much different team than in Dec. Not a hawk apologist by any means, but other than a few mismatch lateral cover weaknesses, their length, press and other quick guards are starting to defend. Plus they can risk fouling cuz they can play 11 guys. Ever notice how Keegan Murray NEVER gets in foul trouble? Somehow they are able to keep him out of covering multiple good players.
Meanwhile, back to the original topic, I would prefer to play a team that has as much trouble scoring as us. Will there be any of those in the tournament?

The problem is if we are left out, their entire NET system putting a premium on beating good teams (Q1 and Q2) they created to replace a bad RPI system, just gets nuked and nobody will trust it. It's not that we have a few Q1 wins. We have 9 with ZERO bad losses (Q3 and Q4 teams. Maybe KSU went to a Q3 at home?).
