Don’t get whey they signed him and then have him inactive.

Because even though the active roster is 53, you can only dress 46 players for a game. He's literally the most recent guy to be signed. Makes total sense that he wouldn't be in a position to contribute yet in the coaches view.

Yea, pretty dumb. Packers are acting like they still have something to play for. Their whole season was run on stupidity though so I didn’t expect any different.

They already have 3 different rookie receivers suited up, today, to go with Adamas. Guys who have been with team longer than since Tuesday.

Unless I’m unaware they don’t have to have 53 players. Why spend that extra money if you aren’t going to use it.

Securing his rights for 2019. Someone pointed it out earlier in the thread. If he shows them enough in the last two weeks of practice, they can secure him for next year. If not, they cut him. They got a free roster spot due to Jones injury, so you take a flyer on a guy that you scouted leading up to the 2018 draft, and secure his rights for cheap.

Only 4 WR caught balls today.
Adams, St. Browm, Valdes-Scantling and Kumerow. They will be the teams top 4 next season unless they draft high. Probably leaves two open spot. Davis may be kept for special teams but he wouldn't count toward six if the keep him they'll keep seven.

Allison would be a current favorite
Moore has to be on the way out
Cobb will get cut

Basically leaves one spot up for grabs.
AL's biggest competition is the team thinking they need a small slot guy instead of another tall receiver.

Valdes has crapped the bed quite a bit. He is no lock.

I wouldn't bet on that. He had the best production of the wideouts they drafted. 3rd in yardage behind Adams and Graham. His catch percentage was a little low, but I'd be shocked if they cut him.

He had 2 great weeks where he looked unbelievable. Then he had 4 weeks where Rodgers was yelling and shaking his head after all his drops. If AL can be that jimmy graham style, WR/TE cross, he would have a decent chance to latch on. GB routinely carries multiple TEs.

I hope he does. Cobb should be let go. He's bringing nothing to the table anymore. And honestly, Graham should restructure or be cut. He's a shadow of what he was. There's room on the Packers for a tight end/wide out. AL will have an opportunity.

Tonyan is going to be the guy that sends Graham packing. I think they will keep Kendricks as the #1 traditional TE

Got a sneaky feeling the slot position they will look for a 3rd down RB/FL combo much like KC and Chicago have added. That guy would likely be 4th RB & 6th receiver.

Meaning Lazard would need to beat out Allison Uphill but not impossible
