Lazard with Jax Makes Me Sad

When Lazard chose to sign with Jacksonville, it didn't make much sense to many of us. They had alot of WR's already on their roster (not that Marqise Lee & Dede Westbrook are fantasy studs), they drafted a WR in the 2nd round, it's a predominately run heavy offense and Blake Bortles is not exactly Aaron Rodgers, or even Case Keenum for that matter. Now we're into the pre-season and of 11 WR's on the depth chart, he's sitting at 7th.

We've watched Allen and maybe it's the Cyclone Kool-aid, but he has the build & skills & ability to be a NFL WR, if he gets in the right situation and gets the right opportunity. We doubted the Jacksonville signing at the time and things don't seem to have improved. I'm honestly hoping he gets cut ASAP so he can possibly catch on with another NFL team and have a real chance to show what he can do.

He is a rookie. Just because he isn't starting day one doesn't mean he won't make an impact at some point this season or next. He had a catch in the first preseason game, which I'm sure is more than some others can say. Let's wait and see how things progress before we get the pitchforks out.

If you're a low pick or undrafted I think you sign wherever you can.

Even if he's in the practice squad he still gets paid well to learn the game.

Saw Murdoch had a catch the other night too.

I think I heard Marchie led the Cowboys in receiving yards, which means nothing but it’s still kind of interesting

Honestly...being with Jax is something he should thrive at...they are a run heavy offense and if he just put on 15 lbs or so and sat at being a TE he would prob make the team..BC he is a monster of a blocker for a WR. Unfortunately the NFL is now in this phase of having speedy WR’s. All he can do now is just show up when he has the opportunity.

I don't remember anyone on here thinking Jax was a bad spot for AL? In fact, nearly everyone thought it would be a great spot for him.

He started slow but has been coming on lately.
He should certainly make the practice squad and would likely get picked up somewhere.

Yeah I expect him to get cut and then if he isn't picked up by another team land back on the Jaguars practice squad.

That is exciting news. He did, but I kinda don't think it was by accident. Marchie Murdock was the first UDFA signed by Dallas on the close of the draft. They know the Big 12, and they know what they are after. I think he will get every chance to prove himself. While he might not have been a high profile standout in college, his attributes line up with what's expected of an NFL receiver.

By contrast, I think AL is more of a "tweener". He reminds me of former MN Viking Steve Jordan, the protoype for a hybrid receiver/TE. Some have since termed that an H-back, although I don't know if that is still in vogue.
