1. Lou Holtz- cheated everywhere he's been, and he can't speak. Not a good combo.

2. Stuart Scott- no explanation required.

3. Chris Berman- same as #2.

Pat Forde - I don't think he's ever said anything but negative words about ISU/Ames.

Mark May/Lou Holtz - Are you kidding me?

Stuart Scott - Tries waaayyy too hard to be cool

Also not a fan of Tony Kornheiser at all, especially after his MNF stint.

I actually don't mind Berman, and I like Fran Fraschilla, Jon Anderson, and Mike and Mike among others.

i don't mind any of them. If you don't like them, dont watch the show. I don't like MTV shows. So I don't watch them

If iowa state played on MTV, I would just tune the announcers out.

I understand what you mean, but it's easier said than done.

I'm watching the US Open here. I might be strange, but outside of college basketball, golf is my favorite thing to watch. The US Open is THE tournament (The Masters is pretty ******* cool too), and Berman's ******* is doing his best to ruin it for me.

I love Lou Holtz. His goofiness is remarkable. Also Tim Kurkjian is respectable because of his knowledge of obscure baseball facts. Berman sucks. Stu Scott isn't great. But by far the best "personality" is Tony Kornheiser.

I remember I was watching a college basketball game where Bob Knight was the color commentator. He was talking about Sherlock Holmes and then something happened in the game, like a personal foul. After the play-by-play commentator got done saying what happened, Knight steered the conversation back to Sherlock Holmes. The whole time I was thinking, I know it's Bob Knight "the General", but he is this guy an idiot.

Stuart Scott's act was tiresome by '98. Berman's act had grown stale several years before that.

While not an analyst, I have to mention Pamela Ward. How she ever got a college football play-by-play gig I'll never know. Automatic channel change whenever I hear her voice, much like the current Staples commercial.
Is she that chick that commentates football early on ESPN2?
She's awful!

Pam Ward has appeared a couple times in this thread for good reason. I've had to spend the better part of 3 games explaining to different, non-sports fans, that her voice is indeed that of a girl's. This, though, does negate the need to explain how she has her job because she is just awful to listen to from a knowledge standpoint.

I hate them all. But will watch NFL Live when it's on.

On a sidenote:

ESPN, is it really newsworthy to put on the bottom line that Obama attend Friday night's White Sox game and left in the 9th inning?

Big freakin' deal.

Pretty crazy what this populace will "buy", huh? This is the same group of people who made "Roseanne" the number 1 show in the free world for 5 straight years.

I could probably find something negative about quite a few, and a few positives about ones I dislike.

Lee Corso

Digger Phelps (not nearly as bad as Corso, but whenever he's in the same room with Bilas, he seems worse than Corso).

At least Corso is limited to GameDay, which I seldom watch anyway. Mostly because of him.

Bayless: I don't mind him, but he's easy to dislike. I feel bad for his co-panelists, because he talks over the top of them all the time.

Berman's schtick lost its appeal so long ago that I almost feel sorry for him.

I believe this is a loaded question, since most if not all of these people are amongst the most annoying people on the planet, but I digress.

I'm watching the US Open and I just can't help my disdain for Chris Berman, and he's being somewhat tame.

Any others that jump out?

Anyone who says "Meeeeshigan". That's just stupid. Berman really REALLY sucks too. Guy should have hung it up years ago.
