The way I've read it seems to say that Iowa granted him his release so he could work out whatever it is that he has going on, but that they're still pretty interested.

I'm just saying that there are plenty of posts from your black and gold brethren in the vein of "we didn't want him anyway". Their couched in the terms of, "Fran can get who he wants now" but the sentiment is the same.

Yet you're here chiding Cyclone fans for deriding his abilities? That's rich.

And, I haven't gotten the vibe that he's being allowed to "work out whatever it is that he has going on"...from what people are saying over there, he's gone.

Might wanna check the Iowa boards...I'm seeing a fair amount of that there.

In the thread on HN about it, there might be four posts in the 78 that say anything close to that. People are more concerned about Fuller, but not concerned as in blaming the coach, but just concerned that he left in general.

You and I can read the same thing and interpret things differently. Hardly chiding...just going off past threads about Iowa recruits and the consensus opinion here that said recruit (whoever it was) would not be fit to wring the sweat out ISU's practice shorts. Last two paragraphs, and then refer to point one.

How many posts here are like that?

I saw one. So, you can cherrypick here, but I can't there? Or are you just trying to stir things up here?

I get it...it's called displaced aggression. You had a bad day on the Iowa boards with a bunch of players bailing, and you come here to kick the dog and make yourself feel better.

Actually, I was at class and work most of the day, and got home late. Transfers are to be expected when a new coaching staff takes over. But to answer your question, just one. That being said, I would love to read what Cyclone fans opinions of Larson were before today.

Yep, just one.

Same amount of posts as what you've made about the topic over at HN. I expect to see you raising the point of your fellow fans' hypocrisy about not being upset that he left, even if it's only one guy saying it. It would be only fair.

Not really sure I understand your point here. Most people over there aren't that upset about it. It's hardly a death knell for the program, and it isn't as "serious" as Fuller leaving - but once again, it's to be expected when a new coaching staff takes over. Iowa wasn't going to be very good next year anyway, but losing a player like Fuller, who vastly improved his game over the course of the season, hurts a lot more than losing a player who's never even practiced with the team.

How did iowa have a top 25 recruiting class? i didnt see anything special from it. i would take ours over theirs anyday. DeMarcus and Ejim are beasts.

Two words: Van Coleman.

I'm not going to bag on the kid, but I didn't think that he was a great recruit then and I still don't. That being said, he's definitely better than the other recruits that we're after at this point. I'd take him in a heartbeat if the supposed character issues are overblown.

Not quite sure how you don't understand.

You pointed out one post here that said that he wasn't any good, in your usual snide and sarcastic way. I pointed out that plenty of your own fans are saying the same things, and that you should be over at HN pointing that out to posters. But I see that those posters there aren't subjected to your ridicule for saying the same things.

You're right, you did say that. But nothing I've read at HN has been of the "he's no good anyway" variety. If you interpret "at least it opens up a scholarship" as "he's no good anyway," then that's your problem.

If you could point out by way of a link to a thread or specific post where someone has said that, that would be fantastic. It is possible that I haven't read it yet. You're going to be over there checking on me anyway, right?

Absolutely. But you're here more than there anyway, for some bizarre reason (probably displaced aggression). We get that you've had a bad day. *cue Daniel Powter song*

Why would we say "he's no good anyway" when we didn't lose him (and may still have a shot)? People say that when they either get beaten out for a recruit or he backs out on them. I've had the same opinion on Larson from the start and his decomitting from iowa has no bearing on it.

Actually, I had a fantastic day. Until Caridad gave up an eigth inning grand slam, anyway.
