If ksu is able to sweep ISU it is not an Indictment of isu, we had a terrible half and were clearly slumping when they played in ames. It was likely our worst overall half of the year and an outlier. It says very little about ISU not being worthy. If that ends up being our worst loss, I'd take that most any year.

KSU did earn it though and that says something when a team is able to upset a much more deserving team on the road.

Saturday might, MIGHT help elevate KSU. But now Isu's resume stands on its own. 9 wins against tournament quality wins with no bad losses.

KSU needs this game way more than ISU and its not even remotely close.
It would be a big win for KSU but it wouldn't be a Q1 win like they really need. However if ISU wins, it WILL be a Q1 win adding to an already great profile.

Maybe a little clearer on the sarcasm. Don't you think? Basically inferring it took our best effort against the last place team. Not a good look on our site.

It’s always more fun to focus on how adeptly you avoid the train wreck than how close you came to the train, even Surly knows that.

Turgeon is a Jayhawk. Cannot see him as K-State's coach. I don't know where they'll go. Certainly, not Marshall with all his baggage. Myself, I'd chat with Bryce Drew, Chris Jans, Chris Mack, and Jerome Tang.

K-State fan forums are toxic presently. Hard to read them and stay sane.
Prohm is available, as will be Fred.

But to be clear, if we take that pissy to the other's web site with backhanded complements, we certainly deserve what's coming. So, there's that.
I've never understood it. I'd never be caught dead over on another team's website contributing to conversations. I only go to Iowa ones to get a good laugh but that's very rare.

I think the good guys are a lock with another W and still have a decent shot even if we lose out. But it’s nice that we have two winnable games in a row here; just need to get at least one of them.

Would feel good to win @ KSU on Saturday and then Senior Night would be a bit less pressure filled.

This is from the editorial page of yesterday's Manhattan Mercury. Basketball used to be like football is today v. Ku. But K-State through all its resources toward the pigskin with Bill Snyder and basketball for whatever reason nosedived.

During my growing-up years, going to all those games, listening to Dev Nelson on the radio when the ‘Cats were in Lawrence, K-State went 21-10 against KU. We won more than twice as often as they did.

That’s just the way it was ... all the evidence led me to this basic mindset: We were going to beat KU. That’s what was supposed to happen. When it came down to crunch time, we would find a way to beat them. If they managed to steal one, it felt like a violation.

That’s why it still does, the last 70 games notwithstanding.

Those were the Jack Hartman days, the days of Lonnie Kruger, Chuckie Williams, Mike Evans, Curtis Redding, Ronaldo Blackman, Tim Jankovich, Ed Nealy and Tyrone Adams. Those guys have their jerseys in the rafters. KU had…oh, I dunno, Darnell Valentine or something. Paul Mokeski. I don’t know and I don’t care.

It felt like winning was K-State’s birthright. Ahearn was packed, game after game, year after year. Students camped out for tickets. KU choked. We didn’t.
Kansas State has only has a winning record in this series for 7 years and not since 1922.

This period of K State dominance was from the second game of 1947 until 1983. During that time K-State went 51-41 against KU.

I suggest in lieu of bloviation that you actually read my opening post.
K-State - beat ISU and OU or zero chance
ISU - in with split versus WVU, K-State, oSu, BU
TCU - troubled waters with Texas, TxT, and two v. Ku looming
OU - cooked
WVU - dead

There is your opening post. It is 100% about making the tourney. So I would assume the posts following it in this thread would be about making the tourney, not how one team "looks" versus another team.

That was a great game last night against the last-placed 'eers in your gym with an incredible performance by your star pulling it out in the end. ISU will have lots of mojo coming down to Manhattan.

It’s kSt basketball, trust me when I say that no one cares as much as you want us to.

With Iowa State being an unlikely contender this year, somebody had to plummet to the depths. Sorry Huggy Bear, sorry Porter Moser (not really sorry).

I'm not sure KState will be worse, who knows. Bruce as weird as he is, seems to he a quality guy.

Some radio station I was listening to said he is 3-20 vs KU at KState and that's driving boosters nuts.
If I were a ksu fan I'd be worried that Pack would transfer if Weber was fired. He could have his pick of schools if he enters the transfer portal, dude can flat out play.

Without a doubt. However, getting swept by the Cats would not be a good thing, as the two look similar to me.
Iowa State and K State do look similar now in the Big 12 standings. Both 6-9. Too bad K State doesn't have 4 Q1 wins on the non-con resume like ISU.

If we win both, that's 21 wins. I'm not prepared for that yet, but I'm willing to learn how to get used to it.

I know people love the NCAA Tournament talk; ESPN has spoon-fed viewers Joe Lunardi bracketology BS beginning in December for the last decade.

Why not focus on Big12 standings!! IMO they are way more important as an ISU fan. If we take care of Big12 business- the NCAA stuff follows.

The Clones, Frogs, Wildcats and Cowboys are all tied with 6 wins. Whatever team among the 4 has the best finish, ends up 5th in the Big12 Standings and gets to play Texas in the first round of the Big12 Tournament. IMO that should be the focus.

KSU is a big game. At this point KU is the only team to sweep the Clones this year. I don't want to go 0-4 with the state of Kansas this season! I know, I know- the ladies are 4-0.

I mean this in all sincerity unless we win the Big 12 I don't care where we finish as long as we make the tourney. The NCAA tournament is the bar for success in college basketball.
