Not sure I remember the article.
There can also be multiple parts of "The Iowa State way" for those that are curious.
I just know one specific thing that's discussed by other teams, players, recruits and it's a cave topic. (And it may not even matter in Lexi's case)
Look, I'd just post it, and I'm not trying to be an ass here but there's been posters that whine and cry if anything gets close to a cave topic in a general thread.
So you're not saying what you want to say based on the hypothetical reactions of other posters? Let them worry about them and you say what you need to say.

Let’s be honest, he probably should retire. He hit his ceiling a long time ago, and refuses to change to fix his deficiencies. Also, when was the last time you can say one of his teams exceeded expectations? They either meet expectations or fall below.

The man is an absolute legend and deserves to go out whenever he wants to, but it sure seems like it’s time. Let’s just hope that when it happens we don’t go the nepotism route to replace him. I can’t think of a single instance of replacing a legend with their kid has ever worked.

Nobody deserves to go out when they choose. If you aren't up to snuff, especially considering the programs support, it's time to go. You stated it perfectly in saying his teams almost always meet or fall below expectations. They cant win consistently on the road, struggle to create offense when the 3 ball isnt falling, and they don't defense consistently.

Sound familiar? It's basically Hoiball for women. If the program wants to be just above average stock with bill. I will be shocked if this recruiting class plays to it's talent level. Considering what this team could have been it's fallen below expectations for years now.

I find this thread disturbing.
How did we get on this tangent anyway?
Fact based? Rumor based? Opinion based? No basis at all?
People got caught up on it all. Hell, you even brought up the legislature.

Or some of you weirdos can keep worshipping the father/son dual we have now
*duo

So you want to hire someone less proven than brancyck when we arguably just had a season pretty similar to OU?

Of course we just established BF dislikes lesbians in this thread so let’s go completely off the rails.

Well this thread got weird. If it were a sexuality thing why would she have spent the last 3 years here? That doesn’t make any sense.

What I heard from someone around the program is it was a combination of things. It’s one thing to play for a harsh coach when the basketball is good and you’re being put in a position to be successful individually. It’s also one thing to play for a coach you like and respect even if the basketball isn’t great. When both those things are negatives, you run out of reasons to stay pretty quick.

Shocking. Knew nothing about Iowa State until seeing Lexi play in high school and being eager to watch her in college. The speed and the defense alone, worth the price of a ticket. Not sure what to make of the mediocre shooting. Maybe on some level it wasn't the right place for her to begin with and that kind of stress can affect your shooting. Seemed like a very good shooter in high school.

As for those who say she has elite offensive skills or potential and wasn't allowed to show it, I just don't see it. From what I saw, she has next to no moves other than speed. She often picks the right time to drive to the basket using her speed and beats the defender, but if she doesn't and is cut off she has nothing to fall back on. In that situation she typically ends up throwing up a completely forced shot that has zero chance of going in.

You look at Clark or Grace Berger, when they're cut off on the dribble they have two or three or four counter moves to make freeing themselves up, Lexie has none of this, except she does have the one move where she starts right and comes quickly back left and creates space to get off her shot. Maybe the potential is there for more moves and she just needs someone to work with her that's possible but the most likely thing, my opinion, is that if you've been playing this long and haven't really developed any moves, you probably don't have it in you. Would like nothing better than to be wrong about that and I will definitely be watching wherever she goes.

Haven't heard from you since KF entered the transfer portal.....

Coincidence??

Staying away from all the landmines dropped in this thread and sticking to the BB aspect. This will hurt our depth and make us younger but talent wise in the starting 5 will still be solid. Ryan, Fritz, Dew and a couple 6'2 freshmen likely.
