Shocking. Knew nothing about Iowa State until seeing Lexi play in high school and being eager to watch her in college. The speed and the defense alone, worth the price of a ticket. Not sure what to make of the mediocre shooting. Maybe on some level it wasn't the right place for her to begin with and that kind of stress can affect your shooting. Seemed like a very good shooter in high school.
As for those who say she has elite offensive skills or potential and wasn't allowed to show it, I just don't see it. From what I saw, she has next to no moves other than speed. She often picks the right time to drive to the basket using her speed and beats the defender, but if she doesn't and is cut off she has nothing to fall back on. In that situation she typically ends up throwing up a completely forced shot that has zero chance of going in.
You look at Clark or Grace Berger, when they're cut off on the dribble they have two or three or four counter moves to make freeing themselves up, Lexie has none of this, except she does have the one move where she starts right and comes quickly back left and creates space to get off her shot. Maybe the potential is there for more moves and she just needs someone to work with her that's possible but the most likely thing, my opinion, is that if you've been playing this long and haven't really developed any moves, you probably don't have it in you. Would like nothing better than to be wrong about that and I will definitely be watching wherever she goes.
