line ups when the 4 players out come back

It's looking that way. When Lard and Solo return, Jacobson's overall minutes will drop a little, because he won't HAVE to play as much (as other players' time will be reduced w/ Wiggi and Talley coming back).

Based on the posts so far, one point of speculation is, are both Jacobson and Lard in the starting lineup on a regular basis?

Definitely maybe.

I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d bring all 4 off the bench initially including Wiggs.
Over time that can change but let those guys get re-acclimated to the team and flow so it isn’t disruptive to the good that we have right now.

Perhaps, but I could see Jacobson handling getting starter minutes off the bench better than Lard. Coaches of talented teams have to consider such things.

Coming off suspension a player should be happy with any time they get.

Honestly, we have six starters when fully back. Young will be in the rotation as well. It will be interesting to see who grabs that eighth spot as playing time usually takes a steep fall after that.

We’re talking big picture and not solely the NDSU game.

Coming out of suspensions it’s time to look forward and for the staff to push the right buttons to make it the most successful season possible. Some guys respond better to coming off the bench better than others, and it would be idiotic to ignore that because of some weird retributive motive.

Like I said we have six starters when it's all said and done. Prohm isn't going to do anything to appiece anyone that isn't in the best interest of the team. Lard of course is one of those six and will play as warranted. He's shown in the past do what needs be even when a replacement isn't available. So you're kidding yourself if Prohm's plans are centered around what's best for an individual.

We wouldn't be five and one if we had Lard instead of Jacobsen. Fouls would have been an issue.

I dont think lard should start this year and Talley isn't good enough to displace anyone

It's going to depend on matchups and how he does on and off the court. Might end up starting again, might not. Prohm will figure it out.

Poor Solomon might not start another game in his Cyclone career before senior night. :(

Not that he is a bad player -- far from it -- but Jacobson has looked so good and we all know how good Lard can be when he is focused and playing hard.

I still remember my, "Yes, finally!" feeling when Prohm put him in the starting lineup two years ago over Bowie. Four awesome seniors... and this monster freshman.

I doubt anybody else would embrace a bench role harder than him, though.

Seems like a great team guy.

I don't know what the starting lineup will be, especially for the two forwards. But its almost like some people are forgetting how incredibly good Lard is.
Same with Young.
He has the ability to be more than a garbage guy, although with all his injuries we may never get to see it. He’s missed a lot of development time.

I don't think there's any chance that THT comes out of starting lineup. I think Lard starts on bench for a few games and eventually takes over at the 5. I feel like Prohm likes to play small especially with the versatility and length of NWB, THT, and Shayok who can decently defend the 4 at times. I'd rather play small too to make other teams match up with our speed and athleticism although there are times Jacobson and Lard will forsure be on the court together due to match ups. I think if we only go 8 deep Talley and Young will be battling over the 8th spot. Lard or Jacobson gives you a big body off the bench, Haliburton can come in and play PG or off the ball too, then Talley can be that swing man who can play as an undersized 4 at times. TLew will be the 9-10th guy as long as he keeps hitting shots like he did the past couple games in Maui. I loved seeing him get some confidence so hopefully that continues.

NWB
Wigginton
Shayok
THT
Jacobson (for now)

Lard (for now)
Haliburton
Talley/Young
Lewis (if continues to knock down shots)

It’s nice to be in a position where we have to decide which starter to start lol
