For who?
Businesses who get tax write offs? Sure. Students? Hell yeah. Regular fans who want to get tickets? Not so much. Next year lower section seating is $5k minimum donation. How many regular guys can take their kids to games at that price? How many kids will get to experience Hilton magic during a great game next year?
I'm not saying we shouldn't demand what the market will bear but rather remember who makes Iowa State basketball special. Is the next young Fred Hoiberg out there but his family can't get tickets? Why not make one section alumni with kids only? Why not commit to bringing in young fans for every game?

Maybe something bigger and better is in the worksSo all the work they did and bids they solicited are moot?
Looks like the Johnny's plans have been taken off of the FPM website. Bummer.
Think it's still on, bid are coming in on May 14th: http://www.fpm.iastate.edu/planning/construction/biddates/biddates.pdf

Who the hell cares if Fred leaves?
I honestly think they should forget the repricing of Hilton. No one will care after next year (we owe Georges and Naz and Monte).
I noticed today ISU awarded the bid for the Johnny's expansion project. J. E. Dunn Construction of West Des Moines is the contractor. Project is to be completed by the start of basketball season.
