Take this FWIW but Petros is a former USC player, currently hosts a popular LA Sports Radio show, and does CFB broadcasts on Fox. He's not one to usually throw crazy stuff out there on this type of stuff.

Hmm, used to like Petros, he's called a couple of our games well.

Now I think he can go piss up a rope. (j/k seems like a good dude)

One thing we've got going for us is that there's no f*cking way the USC boosters will permit an all black uniform. When they say Cardinal & Gold...they MEAN it!

ISU's downer year of high expectations did not serve well for keeping CMC in Ames, methinks. I'm sure he's as frustrated as the random pc-pounder here. USC is an absolute blue blood program, although frankly, I don't get why the Trojans would want a guy with midwest roots.

It's crazy how many P5 jobs are now open, seven, including USC, LSU, and Florida. And it seems to me that demand far exceeds quality supply, thus guys like Huge Freeze get $4 million at Liberty, and Penn State goes out 10-years with James Franklin.

Still a good chance at 8-5.

Don’t think this years record has anything to do with Campbell staying or leaving. You could have made another point or two that makes sense, that one doesn’t make any.

Stuff like this makes absolutely no sense. Campbell put this team together, went to the conference championship game last year with a team full of his guys, and won the Fiesta Bowl last year - proving that you can succeed at a high level at Iowa State. I would wager a lot of money that expectations leading into this year would play no role whatsoever in whether or not he stays or goes. It's just a bunch of people projecting their own thoughts onto a situation they really know nothing about. If Campbell wants to stay, he can continue to be successful here because he's proven he can do that. If he wants to go, then he wants a different challenge somewhere else. I just don't buy the "well he couldn't meet expectations here so he left" stuff. He has won here and can continue to win here if he chooses to stay.

People in the media also can speculate that this was a peak season because of the guys we are losing and that its a good time to leave. But remember when Montgomery and Butler left early and people thought that was the peak? It didn’t take long for the next generation to push further

Aranda seems like the guy here...
except for the fact he's well aware of the expectations at LSU. Where at Baylor he can get paid, maybe set himself as a power broker of a new conference and is biggest rival is .... Okie State? Us? TCU?

Or go somewhere that has twice now filed national champion head coaches. Yes, make a lot of money and Saban is older but still have to play A&M, Alabama every year at least determining on how the new SEC shakes out.

It makes sense he's on the list if for no other reason than the other people are getting insane contracts / extensions. Franklin for 10 years, Mel Tucker at over 9 mill per season.

Billy Napier IMO will take either Florida or LSU.
Jamey Chadwell could take one but he might not quite be a big enough fish.
Bill Clark at UAB would honestly be my coach of choice if I were hiring in SEC or ACC territory. The job he's done at UAB is incredible.

USC or Washington... IDK. Norvell out at Nevada might seem a logical fit for Washington.
