Combine that with many people saying he was lazy, disinterested, and difficult to deal with. It clearly wasn't working out so Rhoads might as well try someone else to try and save his job.
That and CW brought up on the last FAWcast a potential riff going on with the Offensive Coaches.....

Total ***** move by CPR. Couldn't get on the same page? That's probably because he didn't want his offense to suck.

Mr. Mangino, thank you for your efforts. I'm sorry you were fired by someone who is your complete and utter inferior.

Is this a joke? Mangino had complete control of the offense and did awful.

He was hamstrung by a coach who tried to micro-manage him. I will never believe for a minute that Mark Mangino is not a superior coach to CPR in every way.

How in the world do you know that?? By all accounts, Mangino had complete control over the offense.

I get that some people don't like Rhoads, but jeez...

Boxerdaddy counters with Mangino fat joke.

Great that CPR has decided to go with a offensive scheme we seem to be able to run. Is this what he has really wanted to do deep down? Does this lead to some truth about running the spread but doing it conservatively with SBR?
If you are the head coach don't you make the decision of what offense you really want to run and back it all the way?

Have you not watched our offenses under MM? Not all his fault but he is not the savior that many hoped he would be. In fact, he is just really, really bad.

I don't know what to think. I will just wait for nearly double digit sources to inform Hines that it was because JP was so cheap . . .

He made the staff pay their own Hickory Park bill?

Netten's been wearing shoes from Goodwill?

Someone has been sleeping in a ballroom somewhere because they didn't want to go to the pool?

The thing about a dumpster fire is that it doesn't matter who put a flame to the garbage. All you can do is watch it burn. If smart, you'll throw it all out and start from scratch once the flames have died out.

You have to wonder what the "truth" is in this case. CPR clearly didn't seem to be too impressed with Lanning, which leaves everyone who cares wonder what the heck he is seeing. It will be interesting to see who starts at QB this week.

Say what you will about Mangino, but Rhoads offensives have not been good and a consistent problem overall, despite going through 3 coordinators.

Always thought Mark was an *** after the Cyclone Recruiting party when I watched a guy ask him for a picture and Mangino ripped him a new one! No idea what he was mad about.

I think Paul was telling everyone something when he said he had no idea why Joel didn't get more snaps against TCU. Could be a huge boost for the team, he wasn't well liked at KU when he got axed as well. Hopefully we get rid of the east and west play calling now.

The idea that we have top flight receivers is the most repeated myth on this site. Call me when they make a block, or consistently run tight routes, or catch the ball with regularity.

Pretty simple, throw MM and SR under the bus in a desperate attempt to save Rhoads job.

Typical CF poster this season, before today: "Richardson sucks! Our offense sucks! Get rid of the bubble screen! Put in Lanning!"

Typical CF poster this afternoon: "OH MY GOD RHOADS IS BENCHING SBR AND FORCING MANGINO OUT IN A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO SAVE HIS JOB!!!"
