IMO Leach has the opportunity to be a guy like Peter Jok for us. Stock drops due to injury and we stay on them. I'm always for ISU trying to get good talent, even if it's a potentially risky situation.
I want to believe it, but I am still skeptical. Anybody know if this source can be trusted?
He's a baller, when healthy, there is no doubt. I hope we can get him on campus as early as possible to get him in our weight program.Wow, kid is skinny! He was skinny before but looks like with the injury he has gotten even skinnier. But looks like he is back now and posted a video not that long ago where he was dunking and talking about how his legs were back. Kid is a scorer and if he makes it to campus could be a huge steal.
Why the skepticism on him making it to campus? Honestly, you could say that about any recruit...the vast majority carry through on their commitment and all goes well. The guy really has been pumping up Iowa State for months now...on the edge recruits don't do that...he just needed to clear academically.Wow, kid is skinny! AND GERROD HENDERSON - that was a MAJOR loss, imho. He may have come to ISU the following year (1998-99) had Floyd stayed in Ames. But this guy averaged nearly 10ppg as a Frosh and 17+ the next 3 years at LSU. He would have been a difference maker on our team had he been able to make it to Ames during the 1997-98 season!

“Throughout my injury, Iowa State stuck by my side,” Leech said. “That was a big key for me. We had a great relationship, even when others were starting to back away.”
He chose Iowa State over reported offers from such schools as Kansas, Miami of Florida, Texas Tech, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others.
His injury forced him to miss his junior high school season. His first competitive game was in AAU competition last weekend in St. Louis.
“Played one game and it felt good to be back out there,” he said. “I had about 25 points, five rebounds and six assists. It was a good game for my confidence.”
