Yes- I would say that was the same guy.

Two different situations, but Ron Artest got suspended for the rest of the season after his "altercation"- 86 games total between regular and post season. What Smart did crossed that same line and I will be surprised if he is not suspended the rest of the season as well.

While talking about Smart being suspended, this might also cause the Big 12 to reign in storming the court to avoid these incidents.

The incident happened during the game. Preventing court storming wouldn't have done anything to prevent Smart from losing his **** in this case.

Yep. I'm sure the guy said something, racial perhaps, maybe about Smart's momma, who knows, but it sure does look like he's apologizing after he realizes he's about to get confronted by someone who would probably break him in half.

Bottom line though is an athlete at any level can never get physical with fans, no excuses, no "but he said this and that", you just can't do it. If the fan said something grossly inappropriate he should be dealt with as well, but that doesn't excuse Mr. Smart.
