Mark May is a moron. It amazes me that most of these guys got the jobs they did. There is no logic behind most of what they say and if there is, it is usually failed. The Big 12 has to play every team. They don't get to dodge anyone like UNC/Clemson or Iowa/MSU or Bama/UF. I mean look at those conference championships. Do we think it's a coincidence that none of those teams have played each other yet and they are representing their half of the conference?

Gary Danielson is just as bad too. What a dinosaur. He should watch games with Brady Hoke and talk about 32 crossbucks.

Predicting th future is hard. Even D1 and NFL coaches don't know how the games will turn out. He's paid to offer his opinion.

It's not about predicting anything. It's about being able to use some sort of logic and I think if you're getting paid, you should be able to debate things with some sort of reasoning. He can't. That's why he was on with Holtz and he gets destroyed by everyone else on the show he's on now.

There was one year where Nebraska didn't even win their own division, so they didn't even play in the B12 Championship game, but still went to the national title game.

That's what it was. I just remembered there being outrage amongst the football community that happened.

Don't remember the outrage when Bama did it a few years ago, though.

It's why they had to get rid of Trev Alberts along time ago. He rubbed being wrong in Mays face and talked over him the whole show. It was must watch TV.

What about when ksu crushed OU in the b12 title game, and OU still went on to play USC in the national title?
How bout 2001 I think when Nebraska didn't even win the division so no conference championship game and went on to play in a the BCS title game!
The point is a conference title game can hurt. It did then and does now. It's just now everyone is complaining about it.

How bout when the big 10 with now title game, the dust settles and they try and force a Michigan - Ohio State national championship on us.
Thank god for Jim Walden voting for Florida. Remember Florida smoked OSU.

Mark May is clueless. The Big12 plays 9 confernce games, while the Big10, ACC and SEC only play 8. So far this year OU has played 10 Power5 teams, while MSU has also played 10 (even with the Big10 Championship game). Ohio State should receive zero consideration for the playoffs as they only played 9 Power5 teams this year.

I gotta give the Hawkeyes credit. With the Big 10 championship game, this will be their 11th Power5 game. Stanford is playing it's 12th Power5 game.

The solution is easy in the future. To be eligible for the 4 team playoff a team must play 9 confernce games and at least 10 regular season games against Power 5 teams. Plus they must play in their confernce Championship game.

The Big 10 bias with their studio guys, game venue tv booth guys, and GameDay panel is ridiculous

Ask Iowa if it's tougher to play all the teams in your conference or not?

Iowa was inches from being in the 4 team playoff and playing for a chance at a national title, and all they had to do to get there was beat MSU with an injured QB tonight.

If they had to play everyone in their conference, like the Big 12 does, they still would have had to play MSU, but also OSU, Michigan, and Penn State too. There's no chance they run the table with that schedule.

So I wonder what Mark May would have to say about that? Playing just MSU, or having to play MSU, OSU, Michigan, and Penn State?

In the Big 12 currently there are no shortcuts to the title whatsoever like Iowa had this year. You have to play and beat everyone. That is WAY harder. Not even close.

Im sure it is at times, and not at times. Cost TCU a National Title last year. No doubt they would have won it.
No doubt? They deserved a shot but there is plenty of doubt they would've won two more games.

PS- why does anybody care what Mark May says? He's been an idiot for years and everybody in every conference knows this.

I can't stand MM but I agree Not having a championship game is a Huge Advantage....but remember its a round robin so you can't duck the really traditionally good teams like eiu did in the b1g this year....................

If you want more natl relevancy then get more eyeballs on tv screens that equal or exceed the b1g or the suk......

I don't often agree with clonedude, but when I do, it is when he makes sense like this^
