I'm serious the guy could recruit. We lost our east coast recruiter and no one recruited the east coast like Wayne.

Call me crazy but it crossed my mind too. Not saying I would advocate for it but he could definitely recruit.

Leonard Perry. And with a decent amount of the recruiting success being attributed to Fred, I'd actually rather have a defensive minded coach than an Xs and Os guy.

I just want to point out that these are the same thing, one is just a subset of the other.

oh. My. God.

WM=. Not the best HC.

If you actually think he was a bad assistant and not just for the fact that he had a short HC run here you need your head checked. The guy could recruit the pure north east like no one else and that is why he was here and that is why he ultimately hit the job to save the recruits we had. I'm in no way defending his coaching just that he's a black male that knows how to relate to the region more so than Matt A Had shown to. I'm in no way saying he should come back(which may be what you were getting at also) but the guy did his intended role with le damn well

Mateen Cleaves - bet he could recruit the hell out of the state of Michigan. Plus he already has a good relationship with Monte Morris, so he might have some familiarity with the program?
really like this

I'm guessing if TJ comes back he will know that Fred is wanting to go to the NBA soon and will come back knowing that he'd be the next head coach... just my opinion tho.

Charlie is Fred's choice to replace him. It will be in a few years when the twins are out of school.

All due respect to Matt, but Otz is a better coach in virtually every aspect of coaching. This would be a huge net gain for ISU.

Think about this, had Matt stayed at ISU, and then missed on Diallo, how many would be on here calling for him to be fired? I bet quite a few.
They'd be idiots in that scenario, so not very relevant.

Not many. This didn't happen when he missed out on RV, did we?

I know this...I grew up in the Ottumwa area and have watched many D1 players in the Hellyer Center. (Including Hogue and McKay before most 'Clone fan were aware.) My point is this, Hills plays fast basketball and has to reload every 2 yrs...not unlike us with xfers. If you have a guy that can think with the urgency of a 2yr window and back that with the skill set that CFH can give, it just might work. Perry wouldn't be the first Hills HC to join the bench at Iowa State either.

You have that right about Ottumwa. Wow. As you know TJ won the recruiting battle for Dime, and it will be interesting to see how he pans out. Good defender but pretty limited on the offensive end. TJ is a opener and a closer and one of the better recruiters in the country. Guy get's it done.

PS No snide remarks about my man TC
