After reading the some of the alleged ISU fans tweets, they appear to fall in that brain deficient category.
So we care deeply about Iowa State fans insulting a sports reporter that repeatedly insults Iowa State, but if Iowa State fans are ******** to our basketball coach that's cool?
This rival's the night I lost my V-card.
We're definitely becoming the people we hate, and the obsession with hammering him over a 3+ year old tweet comes off as insanely petty and insecure.

If it had only been a single, 3 year old Tweet...sure just let it go. However, that D-bag has crapped on ISU and advocated for Matt to leave our program every chance he had on TV. **** him.
Yeah, I don't really feel bad for Kirk Herbstreit here, I just think our fanbase just unleashes on all slights in a way that makes us look thin skinned at times.

We definitely come off thin skinned. I think it was Andy Staples yesterday going back and forth with people saying "he won't finish his career there," which is such a lazy argument to make because what percentage of coaches Campbell's age end at the school?
Unless these talking heads put specifics to their "he's gone" arguments then no one should care because it's nearly impossible for them to be wrong eventually.

Agreed. There's a tendency to want to spike the ball on doubters when something good happens. I think it's just human nature, because it's not unique to Iowa State, or even sports fans in general. And even though I regularly engage in it, I can recognize it's not the best look. That said... **** Herbie.
Herbstreit seems as mature and professional as a 4th grade Hawk fan. That was very mild from our fan base for multiple salty responses from him and using “clown” is no coincidence.

This is really impressive... I really hope we were able to give him a nice raise. But the reality is, Campbell's main focus has been on investments in the program (facilities) and his staff.
If he wanted he could have asked for raises for himself - absolutely deserves it. But the fact that he has been so focused on rewarding his staff and building the program speaks to his focus - winning at ISU and building the program the right way.
Lot's of people asking about the buy out. That doesn't matter as much to me anymore. Could he leave? Sure. But that decision will not be based on a buy out number... if he wants to coach in the NFL, he can. If he has a specific college dream job (think roy williams to UNC) he can go. I have no idea if he has a long term target job... but his focus right now is 100% on ISU. His actions show he is building this program the right way.

Well said. Not a great look but seriously, **** that guy. He perpetuates a narrative nationally with his lazy views. He needs to be held accountable for that responsibility. If he’s all butthurt about it then get a different job dooshbag.
