As dumb a comment as this was, I'm not going to overreact to it Let's wait and see what he says on Tuesday or whatever day his next press conference is. I'm guessing he'll realize what a dumb comment this was and try to walk it back.
I sure hope so. But he may ignore it completely then continue to ramble on about the process and how we should trust it, and how all he cares about is making the players better fathers. Coaches speak nonetheless.

He'll just coach speak it. This was as close as it's gonna be to him sharing how he's feeling

Dude,

Iowa State Football is a dream job as a P5 head coach.

Big money, almost no expectations.

We only expect effort and improvement, and we are getting neither from our offense.
Absolutely. I would have been content with a 31-27 loss. 10-9 is what gets coaches fired if done consistently.

Campbell will come trotting out and apologize for the misunderstanding Monday, but this is a quote that I just don’t think can be forgiven.

Sure, maybe mention some people went after Jace, but dont lump all of us for the few **** heads we have. Take accountability for the poor performance of YOUR TEAM.

Dude.

You and I have been the most critical of last week's loss on this board.

Neither of us blamed the kicker. At all.

This is such an awful cop-out by a multimillionaire. He's the coward that wouldn't go for 4th and 1.
Jace Gilbert may not even get another chance at a field goal this season. His best bet maybe hoping for a turnover or they start trying for 70-yard field goals.

I don't expect, nor think we'll get, a real apology. I'm not even sure we need one. But you can not let that stand, you have to attempt some damage control. That comment was flat false and totally out of bounds and he needs to make amends.

99.9% of cyclone fans didn’t. Gross deflection.
